We are looking for a highly experienced full-time carpenter to join our team
Working hours: Full time. Minimum 38 hours/week(day and evening shifts, including weekends).
Remuneration: $70,000 - $80,000
Position is located in Greater Melbourne, servicing all areas.
Criteria:
• Certificate III in relevant field or 3 years' of work experience to substitute formal qualifications.
• The applicant should have at least 2 - 4 years’ experience and have good time management.
Your duties will include but may not be limited to:
· Construct, erect, install, renovate and repair structures and fixtures of wood, plywood, wallboard and other materials.
· To cut, shape and fit timber parts to form structures and fittings.
· To study drawings and specifications to establish materials required, dimensions and installation procedures.
· To order and select timber and material, and prepare layouts.
· To cut material, assemble, nail and work with shaped structures.
· To erect framework, roof framing, laying of sub-flooring and floorboards and verifying accuracy of structures.
· To nail fascia panels, sheathing roofs, and fitting exterior wall cladding and door and window frames.
· To assemble prepared wood to form structures and fittings ready to install.
· Measure and install furniture such as cabinets, shelves and more.
· To cut wood joints.
· To repair existing fittings.
· Communicate with other trades professionals to ensure project completed in a timely manner.
· Lift/carry heavy pieces of material or structures.
Education, Skills and Experience Requirements:
· Formal qualification/Training required
· 2-4 years’ experience preferred
· Demonstrated knowledge of carpentry techniques and practices
· Strong leadership abilities
· Excellent time management
· Work in a team
· Understanding of health and safety laws.
