About the Role
- Complete bid from concept to completion of tenders across various sectors;
- Positively manage relationships with sub-contractors, architects and consultants.
- Explore creative value engineering opportunities
- Mentor and share experience with junior team members
- Examine and advise along the way if the cost of items are feasible to the owner
- Develop the tender strategy and manage the financial submission.
- Ensure all risks are recorded and accounted for within the tender.
- Identify direct and indirect cost estimates
- Project planning and technical input;
- Submission of tender quotations within the timeframe provided by the prospective client and in the format required by the prospective
client.
- First principal build-up of tenders for renewable energy projects.
- Exciting opportunity to be part of a growing pre-contracts team involved in renewable energy projects.
- Opportunity to build on knowledge and learn additional skillset in civil and mechanical estimation whilst sharing the electrical knowledge
with the existing team.
- Negotiating with subcontractors and others on commercial and technical matters.
Our ideal candidates will have:
- Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying / Construction Economics or equivalent.
- Minimum of 5 years experience as a Senior Project Engineer/Electrical Engineer or similar
- Ideally 2-4 years’ experience in an estimating role;
- Experience estimating within an electrical engineering environment;
- Ideally proficient in the use of expert estimation or similar software;
- Demonstrated ability in comprehension and interpretation of contractual documents, specifications and drawings;
- Extensive knowledge and experience in contract tendering procedures
- Demonstrated experience in pricing a wide range of renewable energy projects;
- Extensive knowledge of the workings of Australian construction contracts.
