The Role
Conduct site visits to assess the feasibility of solar farm construction, identifying potential risks and constraints.
Generate, analyse, and optimise solar farm layouts and drawings using AutoCAD and PVcase.
Work closely with civil engineers to calculate soil movements and refine the layout of solar projects.
Evaluate and approve mechanical design specifications for solar project structures and components, ensuring compliance with structural and performance standards.
Lead the technical design and cost estimation processes for solar farm projects.
Oversee project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation for the mechanical aspects of solar installations.
Keep detailed records of design specifications, test outcomes, and project documentation related to solar systems.
Verify that solar project designs and mechanical components adhere to all applicable standards, codes, and regulations.
Collaborate with quality assurance and compliance teams to obtain necessary certifications and approvals for solar projects.
Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and technicians working on solar projects.
Estimating solar farm performance through specialised software as PVsyst.
Qualification and Experience
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
5 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with a proven track record of PV solar projects.
Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and FEA tools.
Advanced knowledge of photovoltaic systems modelling software (PVsyst, PVcase)
Familiarity with industry standards and regulations.
Skills and abilities
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Project management skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Remuneration: $90,000 - $100,000
