This is a hands-on position for a reliable, team-orientated and motivated head Chef and Cook who can work well in a team environment and maintain standards of excellence.

The positions are based at Pan & Grill, Busselton. There is the possibility of both career advancement & skill development.

About the roles - We require 1 head Chef and 1 Cook.

Job Description – Head Chef (Salary $ 72,000 - 82,000 plus superannuation)

Planning and designing new food items on the menu based on seasonal changes and customer demand.
Estimating food and production costs
Planning menu for special occasions and as per customer requirements
Presenting and creating decorative food displays
Calculating costs and liaising with suppliers
Directing kitchen operations and managing kitchen staff
Overseeing the food preparation, cooking and cleaning processes
Instructing cooks and other workers in the preparation, cooking, garnishing, and presentation of food
Preparing and cooking food
Preparing high-quality food items, including both design and taste
Creating new flavourful dishes with new cooking techniques from time to time
Determining how food should be presented and creating decorative food displays
Coordinating and discussing food preparation issues with Managers and kitchenand waiting staff, demonstrating techniques and advising on cooking procedures
Explaining and enforcing hygiene according to regulations
Freezing and preserving the food items and storing them in temperature-controlled
facilities
Recruiting and training the kitchen staff
Regulating the temperatures of ovens, freezers and other cooking equipment
Order and maintain inventory of food and supplies;
Sourcing and formally communicating all new and changed information to all staff
Coaching and supporting all kitchen team members to ensure Company objectives are consistently achieved
Demonstrating a fair and equal system towards all staff in accordance with terms and conditions
Ensuring that all daily, weekly and monthly paperwork is accurately completed as per the kitchen requirements

Eligibility Requirements

Skills and experience the experience requirements: -
Minimum 3- 4 years experience in a professional kitchen
Certificate III /IV/ Diploma or higher qualification in Hospitality
Excellent verbal and written skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Able to work and communicate within a team
Attention to personal hygiene & self-presentation is essential
Tidiness is essential, and have great food safety practices
A self-starter who enjoys working in a fun team environment

Job Description – Cook (Salary $ 70,000 - 80,000 plus superannuation)

Examining food items to ensure the food quality
Preparing and cooking food items on the menu
Preparing, portioning, presenting and plating the food items, adding gravies, sauces and garnishing
Preparing food to meet special dietary requirements such as gluten-free vegan.
Monitoring the quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation
Ensure uniform serving sizes and quality of meals.
Regulating temperatures of Fryers, grills, woks, stove burners etc. and other cooking equipment
Assisting the head chef with the preparation and planning of new meal designs
Planning menus for special occasions and as per customer requirements
Assist the Head Chef in culinary and administrative tasks while communicating with the Kitchen staff and General Manager.
Monitor and record inventory, and if necessary, order new supplies
Providing support to cooks and other kitchen staff in the preparation, cooking, garnishing, and presentation of food
Coordinating and discussing food preparation issues with the head chef, kitchen,and waiting staff.
Demonstrating techniques & advising on cooking procedures
Adhering and enforcing hygiene regulations
Freezing and preserving the food items and storing in temperature-controlled
facilities
Training the kitchen staff

Requirements


Skills and experience the experience requirements: -
