Iris Energy Limited is an Australian-based sustainable Bitcoin mining company that supports local communities, as well as the decarbonising of energy markets.

Primary Objective- to support the finance team; such as delivery of accurate and timely monthly financial reports, budget to actual reports, payroll, implementation of process and system improvements, preparation and review of tax returns for the international Iris Energy Group.

Assist with managing the general ledger including the review of various monthly balance sheet, banking, and inter-company reconciliations;
• Assist with audit/review queries for both PCAOB (US) and ASIC audits;
• Ensure accounting standards and policies are implemented and adhered to;
• Review financial accountant’s month-end tasks, including review of manual journals, cashflow statements, fixed assets, and depreciation schedules;
• Prepare monthly Bitcoin mining revenue reconciliations;
• Prepare monthly committed equity facility (ELOC) reconciliations;
• Assist with the preparation of monthly finance report including compilation and analysis of consolidated results, site level and corporate opex reporting and preparation of monthly board report;
• Preparation of key inputs for monthly reports to investors;
• Assist the finance team with the development and implementation of process improvements and systems enhancement initiatives;
• Assist with the preparation and review of payroll and analysis of associated expense amounts;
• Work with the operations teams to ensure reconciliation of key fixed assets and machinery including Bitcoin Mining Hardware;
• Assist with responses to tax auditors and management of associated outcomes;
• Liaise with internal teams as well as external service providers (Auditors, Bank Managers and Tax specialists);
• Assist with cashflow reporting, working capital management and oversight of accounts payable officers;
• Collaborate with the Financial Reporting Manager and the Financial Accountant to ensure deadlines are met for quarterly financial results
presentations;
• Support the finance project delivery team in the implementation of a new ERP system.

Capabilities required:
Sound knowledge of IFRS and application of accounting standards
• Bachelor of Accounting or Commerce from an accredited university or college
• Minimum of 5 years of Professional Accounting Firm experience with CA accreditation
• Experience working with listed organisations (clients) is highly desirable
• Organisational, planning, analytical and problem-solving skills, working with various
internal and external stakeholders
• High attention to detail
• Experience with monthly accounting close processes desirable
• Ability to prioritise and work effectively under tight deadlines, be independent and work
in a collaborative group-oriented environment with the help of sound judgement in
decision-making processes
• Experience in assessing the design, implementation and operating effectiveness of
internal controls.
• Ability to work in a structured and documented way, and proactively assess and reduce
risk
• Xero, Spotlight, Accurri finance cloud-based platforms is an advantage but not essential


Salary range $130K-$140K
