The salary offered is $70,000.00 - $100,000.00 per annum plus superannuation.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
• Reading blueprints and drawings; taking measurements to plan layout and procedures.
• Determining the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements.
• Setting up components for welding according to specifications (e.g. cut material with powered saws to match measurements).
• Preparing and welding metal structures and components by using high heat equipment and welding processes such as MIG, TIG, and electric arc welding.
• Operating hand-welding and flame-cutting equipment such as oxyacetylene torch, electric arc machine, and robotic welding cells based on project needs.
• Welding components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal or overhead).
• Conserving resources whenever possible to ensure budgetary integrity and client satisfaction.
• Following and enforcing strict safety regulations such as wearing heat-resistant gloves, protective masks, and safety shoes.
• Assessing welded surfaces, structures and components to identify errors.
• Testing and inspecting welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws.
• Monitoring machinery for appropriate usage and temperature.
Essential Skills
• Ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints
• Knowledge of welding machinery, electrical equipment, and manual tools
• Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures (TIG, MMA etc.)
• Experience in using electrical or manual tools (saws, squares, calipers etc.)
• Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (face-shield, gloves etc.)
• Attention to detail!
• Good organizational skills, ability to prioritize and work effectively
Desirable Experience and/or Qualifications
• Certificate III or Certificate IV (or above) in Engineering (Fabrication Trade)
• An industry-recognized qualification relevant to the area of specialism
• Related work experience preferred.

You must work at various shifts including weekends and evenings when necessary. This job description reflects the present requirements.
