Head Chef - Exciting Opportunity - 160 Seat Restaurant & Function Centre

We are seeking a highly skilled and creative Head Chef to lead our culinary team.

As the Head Chef, you will have the unique opportunity to showcase your culinary expertise, organisational skills, and leadership abilities in a new dynamic environment. This is an excellent chance to make a significant impact and contribute to the success of our establishment. You will work closely with the General Manager to establish a highly regarded reputation that continues to build on its success in the region.

Responsibilities:

Develop and execute creative and innovative menus, ensuring a diverse range of dishes that cater to our customer's preferences, dietary restrictions, and seasonal availability of ingredients.
Supervise the kitchen staff, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure efficient operations and consistent delivery of high-quality dishes.
Oversee the entire food preparation process, ensuring that all dishes are prepared to the highest standards of taste, presentation, and quality.
Manage inventory, including ordering and sourcing of fresh ingredients, maintaining appropriate stock levels, and minimizing wastage.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment.
Collaborate with the restaurant management team to develop and refine strategies for improving efficiency, customer satisfaction, and profitability.
Stay up-to-date with industry trends, culinary techniques, and new ingredients to continuously enhance the restaurant's offerings.

Requirements:

Proven experience as a Head Chef or in a similar leadership role within a busy restaurant setting.
Extensive knowledge of various culinary styles, techniques, and cuisines.
Demonstrated ability to develop and execute creative menus that appeal to a diverse customer base.
Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a culinary team.
Exceptional organizational and time management abilities, capable of handling high-pressure situations and meeting deadlines.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with the kitchen staff, management team, and suppliers.
Knowledge of food cost control, inventory management, and menu pricing.
A passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of quality.
Planning and designing menus
Calculating costs and liaising with suppliers
Directing kitchen operations and managing kitchen staff
Overseeing the food preparation, cooking and cleaning processes
Delegating tasks and resolving issues as they arise
Ensuring compliance with hygiene and health and safety regulations
Liaising with the general manager to ensure operations run smoothly
Ensuring all ingredients are fresh and meet quality standards
