We (B & C Sammut Pty Ltd) are a vegetable wholesale and retail supplier in Sydney. The business makes deliveries to supermarkets, and various wholesalers on daily basis. The business has more than 100 permanent customers and enjoying significant growth every year. We maintain a Supply Chain to manage, monitor, storage and supervise the entire distribution of the products.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The role is to coordinates supply of vegetables. The Supply and Distribution Manager has to control all different operations, from forecasting trends and buying through to transport and distribution.

Supply and Distribution Manager works with procurement team to select products that are in demand and organise supply to retailers and wholesalers. The important role of The Supply and Distribution Manager is to plan the effective and efficient way to get goods delivered to retailers and wholesalers.

Tracking shipments and stock levels using computer software and working with clients to make sure they receive their goods on time and in the right condition.

The duties involved in the role includes:
Responsible for storage and distribution planning of the Vegetables.
Responsible for control and coordinate the supply of Vegetables.
Responsible and to determine the purchase of Vegetables.
Undertaking continuous improvement of logistics processes and systems.
Responsible for purchase, storage, and distribution of variety of Vegetables (Seasonal and Non Seasonal) and at minimum cost level.
Responsible for supply and distribution policies and plans.
Responsible for negotiating the product and price with suppliers (Farmers and Stores) as well as distributors with best price, quality, and delivery of the Vegetables.
Check the storage and inventory system to meet the supply requirements or arrangement of storage as per requirement.
Initiate and manage appropriate ‘Aging Stock’ value information, reporting weekly on the situation to Directors.
Re- order the Vegetables as per need and stock level.
Addition of new products as per customer or business requirements.
Training and allocation of staff as per work requirement.
Manage communication with customer (and sales) for any logistics related issues, mitigate any conflict with the client and customers, and also deliver the best service level.
Assist with developing a safety focused environment, adapting to Think, Act, Be Safe philosophies.
Ability to operate effectively under pressure.
