GenesisCare is currently seeking a Medical Physics Specialist.

As a Medical Physics Specialist, you are responsible for the provision of clinical physics and quality assurance services that ensure a safe, efficient and effective radiotherapy physics service including radiotherapy equipment commissioning, quality assurance, dosimetry and treatment planning.

Key areas for the role will be discussed and agreed with you and the Chief Physicist during the on-boarding process. This will be tracked periodically and discussed annually as part of the performance review process.

More specifically, you will:
• Function as the scientific and technical expert for any assigned projects pertaining to radiotherapy physics.
• Provide specialist advice in the technical and scientific aspects of radiotherapy delivery and treatment planning within a specific clinical specialisation, including IGRT or VMAT.
• Independently perform highly accurate routine and non-routine dosimetry and geometric quality assurance measurements on assigned radiotherapy.
• Assist in operating theatres or elsewhere as required, with applicator insertion, appropriate localisation with medical imaging, treatment planning and patient irradiation for high dose-rate brachytherapy.
• Be immediately present at the treatment control area for every patient irradiation episode involving high dose-rate brachytherapy, with appropriate training.
• Perform independent monitor unit calculations and to be responsible for reconciling observed differences in the calculations.


We're looking for someone who has:
• A Bachelor’s Degree in Physics, Applied Physics, Medical Physics, or a closely allied field of study.
• Demonstrated experience in radiation oncology medical physics and a proven ability to achieve high standards of clinical practice.
• Knowledge of local, national and international standards for safety and quality assurance; proven ability to implement procedures to ensure safety and quality of patient care.
• Eligible to be on the ACPSEM Register of Qualified Physicists
