About Wodonga Abattoir
Wodonga Abattoir is a large Meat Processing Facility based in Wodonga, Victoria.
The abattoir operates as a multi-species plant for the processing of cattle, sheep, calves and one of the country’s major processors of rangeland goat.
All products are processed for export to countries including but not limited to USA, Canada, Japan, Korea, South Africa, Indonesia, China, and Middle East Countries.
About the role
Based in Wodonga, this is a full-time position as an AAO in our Quality Assurance Team.
The Wodonga Abattoir Quality Assurance department is responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance is maintained for areas including Meat Safety, OH&S, Environmental Safety, and Industrial Relations.
Key Responsibilities of an AAO
• Conduct post mortem inspection of Cattle, sheep, calves and goats
• Monitor processes and products to ensure compliance to Company, regulatory and customer Meat Safety Standards /
specification.
• Record monitoring results and document corrective actions for non-compliances
• Report non-compliances to the QA Manager
Requirements of an AAO
• Certificate 3 or Certificate 4 in Meat Processing (Meat Safety)
• Demonstrated understanding of meat production systems, HACCP, and quality systems.
• AAO accreditation.
• High level of initiative, attention to detail and self-motivation.
• Preparedness to work flexible hours (including early morning starts and overtime).
• Competent in knife sharpening
• Experience in working in a meat process environment.
