The Opportunity
Come and discover the opportunity to join our Energy Sourcing & Utilisation (ESU) team at our Port Kembla Manufacturing facility as an Energy Systems and Data Analyst. As a part of the broader Australian Steel Products (ASP) portfolio, we have six major manufacturing sites at Port Kembla that deliver a variety of products, innovative solutions and services to our export and domestic customers.
The ESU team provides the business with commercial and technical expertise to navigate the constantly evolving energy and climate landscape now and into the future. They are responsible for managing BlueScope’s electricity, gas and utilities requirements across key manufacturing facilities in the ASP portfolio. This role will see you drawing on your experience and critical thinking to provide reliable energy and utility insights and data to stakeholders.

What Will You Do?
Working in a collaborative team, you’ll manage key energy and utility data systems used by the ESU team and provide data-led insights and solutions related to our energy, utility and carbon requirements. You will also:
- drive reporting systems resiliency and enhance data sourcing process efficiency and quality
- ensure that the energy and utility data housed in these systems is accurate and available for various key activities including month end processing
- facilitate the interfaces between operational processes and the commercial energy and carbon systems and processes
- strive to continuously adapt and improve the systems and processes used for energy and utility monitoring and reporting to manage changing technology, business models and policy
- develop a deep understanding of how energy and utilities are used across BlueScope’s Port Kembla manufacturing footprint

- an ability to communicate effectively and build constructive relationships and broad networks
- proactive, forward thinking as you apply your strong analytical skills and maintain a high attention to detail
- a genuine interest to further grow and develop a balance of technical, commercial and problem-solving skills to meet the needs of key stakeholders and emerging activities of the ESU team
- though not essential, experience in data management and/or reporting systems development will be highly valued
