About this opportunity

Our SULO Somersby site has a contract to provide all in field bin repairs within a specified timeframe. This is undertaken by a 3 man team, using electronic hand held devices which design routes efficiently, and capture data of jobs completed in real time. This role is one of the 3 drivers, who also acts as the team leader/supervisor.

The Supervisor is responsible for implementing the strategic plan for the Services business, to ensure that the customer requirements are being met and that the budgeted result is being delivered.

The Supervisor is accountable for all matters that affect the field services operation, and is expected to take clear and decisive action, quickly and professionally in accordance with the values and policies of the organisation.

The Supervisor is responsible for implementing the strategic plan to ensure that the customer requirements are being met and that the budgeted result is being delivered.

Main Accountabilities

Safety and Environment:

  •   Ensuring adequate resources are provided to meet WHS needs
  • Incident management including of reporting, investigating and close-out of WHSE incidents.
  • Instilling a culture whereby risks are identified, assessed and controlled for all activities in the services area
  • Ensuring the completion and the sign off on all SOPs
  • Participating in audit activities
  • Monitoring and implementing corrective actions
  • Maintain inspection and testing programs for equipment and tools used.
  • Report and improve the units WHSE performance using in house systems (Velocity).

Quality and Compliance:

  •  Assist with reporting of, investigating and close-out of all NCR incidents within the PACT timeline of 1+1+1.
  •  Instilling a culture whereby non-conforming quality risks are identified, assessed and controlled for all services undertaken.

Supply Chain:

  • Management of relevant FMS contracts to enable successful delivery (eg: bin washing, ASTRON returns) of contracted services.

Performance and Development of teams:

  • All relevant and mandatory training is being delivered in a timely manner.
  • Developing and implementing WHSE and QS competencies for all staff, considering the position specific activities and any risk associated with such activities
  • Facilitate regular communication meetings in line with standard operational best practice
  • Coaches team members to take responsibility for addressing and resolving challenging situations
  • Monitor and approve time sheets for direct reports in Kronos and casual staff within the area of responsibility.

Leadership, KPIs, and Objective setting:

  • Managing ethical practices, standards and systems and reinforces their use in line with PACT procedures and policies
  • Manages and re-enforces housekeeping principles in all areas of the business in line with PACT policies.
  • Manages employee performance and engagement in a team environment.
  • Managing contracted and organisational KPI requirements by applying OPEX principles to activities.
  • Assist with employee specific goals, set accountabilities, and manage staff performance via PACTs systems.

Your skills and experience

To be successful in this role, you’ll have:

Mandatory

  • Experience with WHS&E work practices
  • Minimum of 2 years employment background in a logistics or DC operations environment.
  • Experience in logistical/services contracting component.
  • A working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of products – especially EXCEL
  • Proven people management capabilities coupled with supervisory experience and superior communication skills.
  • Drivers Licence.

Desirable

  • Use of hand held electronic devices
  • Stock taking and stock usage management
