About the job

Hi there!

Neudle Psychology is a young and innovative psychology practice dedicated to advancing the neurodiversity-affirming movement. Founded and led by Dr Joey Lawrence, Neudle was born following an overwhelming number of requests for affirming psychological support within the neurodivergent community. Dr Joey provides this support via Neudle, based on the perspectives of lived experience and contemporary research, and continues to be a very engaged advocate online with approximately 3 million likes and over 130k followers on TikTok (@nd_psych).

The Role

We are seeking a registered psychologist who can conduct therapeutic neurodiversity assessments.

The role is flexible, provides you the opportunity to work from home at hours that suit you, and is tailored to suit your requirements. Telehealth (Zoom) is used for all sessions, which allows us to support clients across Australia.

Neudle will provide the successful candidate with training in our neurodiversity-affirming practice prior to engagement with clients, and will provide ongoing support from Dr Joey. Further growth potential within the role includes joining us in educating clients and communities, advocating for neurodivergent individuals, participating in research, running support groups, and providing training to healthcare professionals.

The role involves providing high-quality neurodiversity-affirming therapeutic services to clients (including assessments), generating assessment reports and related documentation, collaborating with interdisciplinary team members, and contributing to the continued growth and development of Neudle's services.

The core responsibilities include:

Conducting neurodiversity-affirming therapy sessions with clients.
Developing and implementing individualised support plans for clients based on neurodiversity-affirming principles.
Conducting neurodiversity-affirming assessments and writing neurodiversity-affirming reports.
Keeping up-to-date records on client sessions.

Depending on the applicant’s skill level and preference, the role may also include:

Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care for clients.
Educating clients, families, and communities about neurodiversity and its implications for mental health and well-being.
Advocating for neurodivergent individuals and their families in various settings, including schools, healthcare facilities, and government organisations.
Participating in research on neurodiversity-affirming practices and interventions.
Running support groups for neurodivergent people and their families.
Developing educational materials and resources.
Providing training and consultation to other healthcare professionals on neurodiversity-affirming practices.
Developing and delivering workshops and presentations on neurodiversity and its impact on mental health and well-being.
Staying up-to-date on the latest developments and trends in neurodiversity-affirming practices.
Maintaining professional relationships with other neurodiversity-affirming psychologists and organisations to advance the field.
