The Position

This is a key role in a friendly, motivated team undertaking independent research in the area of seismology and computational geophysics with a view to publishing original and innovative results in refereed journals, present research at academic seminars and at national and international conferences, and collaborate with other researchers at a national level. This role will be a key in the observational seismology program at RSES with a focus on data acquisition for Earth Imaging. Candidates who have previous experience with numerical seismology, data processing, computer programming, and fieldwork are encouraged to apply.

The Postdoctoral Fellow will be a member of Research School of Earth Sciences (RSES). RSES is Australia’s leading academic research institution for Earth and Marine Sciences, and ranked 11th in the world for Earth and Marine Sciences (QS World University Rankings by Subject 2023). The Person

We are looking for an early career researcher with a PhD (or awarding of a PhD within six months of appointment) in the field of seismology, computational geophysics, tectonophysics or a related area, and have the ability to articulate and prosecute innovate research. Your ability to lead by example, coupled with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, will enable you to foster respectful and productive working relationships with staff, students and colleagues at all levels within RSES in line with the RSES Culture Statement.
