About the Role

You will deliver exceptional teaching and research in the fields of contemporary and popular literature. You will be committed to making significant, innovative contributions to scholarship and research, nationally and internationally, whilst actively fostering research activities and training within the University and the broader academic community.

Your responsibilities will include:

Subject coordination and supervision of tutors, both administratively and academically.
Curriculum design and innovation, fostering cross-disciplinary approaches.
Engage in research activities including publications, securing research grants, graduate research supervision, and public engagement.
Leadership and service roles within the discipline, School, and Faculty, promoting respectful and inclusive behaviours, active participation in committees, and the establishment of national and international partnerships.
Who We Are Looking For

You are an accomplished professional who has made significant contributions in the field of English and Theatre Studies, particularly in contemporary and/or popular literature. Your expertise has been recognised at a national or international level, and you bring dynamic teaching, innovative research, and a commitment to pedagogical advancement to this role in a leading research hub for literature and performance.

You will also have:

A PhD in a relevant discipline, demonstrating specialisation in contemporary literature and/or popular literature.
A proven track record of excellence in teaching, encompassing course coordination, subject/course development, and the ability to teach high-enrolment subjects.
Possess internationally recognised publications, substantial experience in securing research grants, and a commitment to fostering public engagement activities.
Demonstrate strong leadership and management skills, contributing to strategic planning for the advancement of the discipline and the institution, while exhibiting a high standard of professional and collegial behaviour.

This position requires the incumbent to hold a current and valid Working with Children Check to ensure the University provides a safe environment for everyone.
