This is an exciting position in a world of Asian fusion dining, where cocktails flow and mouth-watering aromas of Asian street food meet contemporary dining in a relaxed setting.

Nestled in the heart and soul of William Street Northbridge, at Lucky Chan’s prides ourselves on fresh, local ingredients, transformed into delightful dishes that have even the most diehard Asian food lovers coming back for more.

Think fluffy baos, slippery, spicy and aromatic noodles, handmade dumplings, and lots more. We have a large range of vegan and vegetarian options including bespoke pulled jackfruit dumplings, and vegan carbonara, as well as plenty of gluten free options that won’t disappoint.

Lucky Chans Laundry & Noodlebar (Northbridge)
Dutch Trading Co (Victoria Park)
Cocktail Gastronomy Catering (Osborne Park)
And soon to open venues… Fallow (Northbridge) and Somewhere in the Middle (Shenton Park).

The remuneration salary is a start and dependent on experience and relevant skills.



Job Tasks and Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Head Chef, the main duties of this hands-on role include, but are not limited to the following:

Assist with menu planning, organisation and cooking of food in dining and catering establishments.
Manage quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation.
Discuss food preparation issues with Managers, Dieticians and kitchen and waiting staff.
Demonstrate techniques and advising on cooking procedures.
Enforce hygiene regulations.
Store food in temperature-controlled facilities.
Prepare food to meet dietary requirements.
Maintain high hygiene standards and cleanliness of all work areas.
Maintain a high level of product knowledge and awareness of Perth's food scene.
Deliver excellent food delivery and service.
Enforce OHS Workplace practices and Food Safety Standards at all times.
Support the Head Chef and ensure smooth operations in their absence.
Assist with rostering and ordering when necessary.

Skills and Experience:

We are looking for someone with a minimum of 2-years’ experience in a similar environment/role.

Significant experience in producing high end, quality food.
A history of, and genuine interest in, training new staff and mentoring more junior level Chefs and Apprentices.
Great communication, interpersonal and organisational skills and be passionate about food, cooking as hospitality.
References from previous employers will be required to prove experience etc.

To be considered you must have / be willing to obtain:

Currently residing in Perth, Australia
AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma (ANZSCO Skill Level 2) including at least 2 years on-the-job training.
National Police Clearance (Within 6 months)
Active Valid Visa acknowledged by the Australian Government
Can successfully pass Full Comprehensive Pre- Employment Medical + Drug & Alcohol Screen
Covid 19 Vaccination Certificate
