Salary: $85,000 plus 11% superannuation

Our client, Go Logistics Pty Ltd. is a respected leader in the transport and logistics industry. Go Logistics services its clients’ needs to deliver time critical freight such as medical supplies and industrial equipment throughout NSW and Canberra.

We provide a wide range of services to create flexibility and unparalleled convenience for our customers. We cover various verticals of the delivery business including same-day delivery, Truck Load, Less than Truck Load, cross docking, warehousing and distribution, etc.

The client is looking to fill a full-time position as a skilled and experienced Transport Company Manager. As our company continues to grow, this role is pivotal in supporting our existing team while focusing on future growth and targets.
The role involves directing and managing governance and regulatory compliance procedures related to transportation activities and developing key performance indicators to measure the effectiveness of the transportation operations.

The Transport Company manager will direct, plan, and organise all transportation procedures for our company. This includes directing and communicating with transportation vehicles to ensure safe and on-time deliveries for consumers who are expecting products.

The Transport Company Manager has to monitor various activities inside the department as well as the safe transportation of products and services from the company to the scheduled delivery location.

You will be responsible for the operational activities. This position will suit someone with experience and knowledge within the transport industry. Must have more than 2 years of experience in the transport industry.

You must hold a Diploma or above in the relevant field.

In this role your main responsibilities include:
• Develop and implement policies and procedures for transportation operations
• Manage the transport fleet to optimise utilisation
• Plan and implement transportation schedules
• Responsible for all of the dispatching, routing, and tracking of delivery vehicles
• Efficiently manage a team of drivers and vehicles
• Develop key performance indicators to measure the effectiveness of the transportation operations
• Engagement and management of subcontractor fleet to meet overflow demand as required
• Develop operational excellence
• Collaborate with other managers and staff members in order to formulate and implement, goals, and objectives
• Organise vehicle checks and Identify operational issues, potential problems and opportunities
• Ensuring company compliance of all transport policies, legislation and procedures
• Coordinate activities associated with the arrival, departure, loading and unloading of vehicles
• Budgetary responsibility
• Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations
• Ensure goods are stored and transported in conditions that will maintain their quality
• Plan, organise and manage the routing of deliveries and collections to meet the requirements of the business and customers
• Liaise with clients to determine requirements

Candidate
The successful candidate will be a motivated Transport Company Manager with minimum 2 years’ experience.

You will need to possess the following skills and personal attributes:
• A mature personality with good interpersonal skills, enabling you to relate to a diverse range of people
• Good understanding of auditing with the ability to work with internal & external stakeholders to close out audit non-conformances within the required timeframes
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work within multidisciplinary teams
• The ability to organise your work, setting priorities and meeting reporting/statutory deadlines
• Exceptional prioritization skills, enabling you to manage conflicting deadlines and adapt to third-party changes
• Extensive industry knowledge

Remuneration
The salary offered is $85,000 and is market competitive to attract the very best people.
