About the Role
Our client is currently seeking applications for full-time Metal Fabricator/Boilermaker located at Mackay or Burdekin areas.
This role is required to work as a member of the Maintenance Team to provide maintenance service to other Mill departments that involves the completion of planned and unplanned maintenance and capital projects safely, on time and to the required standard.
Key tasks include:
• Participate and support the preventative maintenance programs.
• Choosing, cleaning and preparing machine components and metal stock for various fabrication tasks.
• Basic troubleshooting of equipment breakdowns, fault reporting and requesting by analysing equipment schematics, diagrams, and specifications.
• Complete procedural logs and maintenance requests,
• Installation and monitoring of plant and equipment, molding and shaping metal equipment parts using a combination of manual and machine tools, along with heating and hammering techniques.
• Carrying out maintenance and adjustments on machinery as required, by precisely aligning equipment components to be joined, employing hand tools and precision measuring instruments.
• Installs, repairs, maintains, and tests equipment within training level.
• Provide direction and guidance in the workshop areas to finish the components by cleaning, polishing, filling and bathing in acidic solutions.
Qualifications and Skills
• Completed qualification in Mechanical Engineering (Fabrication) or equivalent.
• Proven at least 2 years of relevant experience.
• Working at Heights
• Strong understanding of Workplace, Health and Safety in a Manufacturing environment
• Works under limited supervision either individually or in a team environment.
For the right candidate, the salary ranged from $70,000 to $85,000 plus superannuation is on offer.
