About the Role

This position is responsible for a wide range of kitchen operations in La Boca Bar & Grill. This is a unique, hands on position that is suitable for someone who is excited by the prospect of Argentinian flavours to Brisbane

Reporting to the Executive Chef, this role is responsible for consistently delivering exceptional food experiences for our guests. As a Chef in our signature outlet, this role also encompasses an administrative component to support the busy operations that includes supporting our HACCP practices, menu development and training and mentoring of our Apprentices. The successful candidate will have demonstrated people management capabilities with the natural passion and desire to coach, mentor, grow and lead a diverse multicultural team.



Duties and Responsibilities

Experience in Argentinian Grilling and Cuisine
Experience in successfully managing the kitchen operations in a hotel or similar medium sized operation;
Hands on approach to running the restaurant
Experience in mentoring, coaching and leading a team
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a natural ability to effectively communicate to a wide diverse audience;
Demonstrated ability to plan, priorities and organise your varying work load;
Thorough understanding around kitchen hygiene practices, environmental and food safety standards;
Maintain HACCP certification and ensure physical and administrative compliance
Proactively interact with guest
Knowledgeable about food trends


Skills and Experience

Diploma of Hospitality Management including Commerical Cookery or equivalent work experience of 3 -4 years
Previous experience in Argentinian cuisine and in similar lead role.
The ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen
Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written
Team Player
Ability to work on rotating shifts across 7 days
A proactive approach to system improvements
Knowledge of HACCP and relevant food safety accreditation

Salary

In addition to our benefits above, our salary on offer for this position is $70,000 to $80,000 per annum dependent upon experience.
