What will you do?

The position will be in the Power Generation team within Aurecon’s Energy Business. You will join our multi-disciplinary team who advises our clients on the development and implementation of power generation projects across the entire development lifecycle. This includes a range of technologies such as onshore wind, solar PV, BESS, offshore wind, pumped hydro and green hydrogen applications. The role will include the following activities:

  • Undertake project scoping, concept design and optimisation.
  • Manage, or be part of delivering large scale procurement processes including preparation of technical specifications, tender evaluations, contract negotiations, etc.
  • Support project implementation through a variety of roles that include detailed design, owner’s engineer, technical due diligence / lenders engineer and O&M phase support.
  • Deeply understand our client’s most pressing challenges and exciting opportunities relating to the energy sector
  • Ask the right questions to frame a strategic approach to problem solving and value creation.
  • Search for innovative ideas and concepts to further improve delivery processes for the business.

We know the work we do is vital in assisting our world’s economic development and, it’s the technical expertise and the depth of knowledge of our people that really sets us apart. Here are the key things you will need to have to ‘bring ideas to life’.

  • Able to bring innovation to complex problems using your problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to articulate complex technical ideas and solutions in both written and verbal communications which are tailored appropriately for the audience.  
  • Alignment with many of the Aurecon Attributes – co-creative, commercial, engaging, fearless, inquisitive, resourceful, sense maker, and unconventional thinker.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in engineering with approximately 5-15 years post-graduation experience in a role with close contact with the power industry, consulting, or power project developer/owner/operator
  • Understanding of the power project development lifecycle including environmental assessment, grid connection, contracting strategies, procurement processes, commercial agreements, financing, and implementation/construction of projects
  • Founding capability in onshore wind technologies with knowledge and understanding of other power generation technologies including solar PV, large scale batteries, etc (experience with multiple technologies preferred but not essential).
  • Demonstrated background in creating and coordinating the production of polished engineering reports and documentation
