OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To work with a team of staff and sub-contractors to ensure both inbound and outbound freight travels on time and linehaul and PUD loading/unloading are completed in a timely manner whilst ensuring safety is always maintained.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure responsibilities for Total Quality Management, Occupational Health & Safety, Equal Employment Opportunity, Industrial Relations and other relevant policies and legislation are included.
Cost efficient and effective allocation of labour and equipment to achieve the daily work requirements
Ensure the workplace is safe and free from hazards and that all activities comply with State and Federal legislation, Occupational Health & Safety, Dangerous Good Policies, Environmental and Global Express procedures and policies are adhered to
To ensure the handling of Dangerous Goods is carried out in accordance with the Dangerous Goods Code
Keep the Branch Manager fully informed of all developments
Encourage staff to put forward suggestions that could be beneficial to the Company’s profitability, image or welfare etc by conducting regular meetings
To ensure that all loading / unloading and equipment records comply to the relevant guidelines
To manage and maintain the CHEP pallet agency
Control and monitor the maintenance schedule for the PUD fleet
