Working in Engineering Productivity (EngProd), you will collaborate and work with other engineers to design, build, scale, and operate the systems that the rest of Arista’s development teams use. The EngProd team uses industry-standard systems like Ansible, Jenkins, Kubernetes, Grafana, Spinnaker, MySQL, ElasticSearch, Google Cloud, and Varnish and also internal systems that we’ve built from the ground-up to automate CI/CD, testing, analysis, and visualization. We believe observability is one of the cornerstones of a stable system, and endeavor to make sure we can monitor and visualize all aspects of our tooling and infrastructure.

Arista Software Engineering roles demand a strong and broad software engineering background. While the primary focus area for this role is EngProd, the role will not be limited to any single aspect of software development at Arista. It will cover all aspects of software development spanning the addition of new features, debugging problems and fine tuning code for scalability and performance. You will own your projects from definition to deployment and customer interactions, and you will be responsible for the quality of everything you deliver.

What You'll Do

• Building, integrating and maintaining tools and infrastructure facilitating internal development and testing.
• Improve maintainability of build system
• Evaluate new tools
• Improve speed of information back to the development team within the build systems and processes
• Troubleshoot and resolve systems and network issues.
• Adherence to infrastructure-as-code principles.
• Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability.
• Participate in the design and implementation of new systems and infrastructure projects.

This is a field service engineering position, primarily based at Sydney Airport, responsible for maintaining and repairing Smiths Detection’s X-ray and trace detection equipment using hand and power tools, as part of Smiths Detection’s 24/7 rotating shift roster. This position requires face-to-face customer-interaction and a high level of team orientation, with a proactive approach to seeking and sharing technical knowledge. The ability to work autonomously and across all of the allocated shift rotations/times are also essential requirements.

Duties And Responsibilities: 

• Troubleshooting, servicing and repairing X-ray and trace detection equipment
• Proactively completing preventative maintenance tasks according to service contracts and schedules Responding to equipment faults and other corrective maintenance requirements according to service contracts and key performance indicators
• Testing components and circuitry of X-ray equipment using a multimeter, computer/laptop and the inbuilt equipmentsoftware
• Diagnosing the root cause of mechanical, electrical and electronics related equipment faults (involving 24 volts or less) 
• Replacing belts, rollers, motors and other mechanical components within X-ray equipment
• Replacing and manoeuvring X-ray sources (ie. generators) and other heavy parts using lifting aides
• Opening machines to inspect, vacuum, clean, de-grease, repair and replace internal parts 
• Installing new equipment, independently and alongside Smiths Detection’s programs and installations teams and various subcontractors and customer-stakeholders • Completing field service related documentation and reports
• Completing technical, safety, compliance and other job related trainings, online and in-person
• Maintaining a clean/tidy work station and work environment
• Responding to queries from customers, vendors, subcontractors and internal stakeholders, verbally and in writing, in a timely and professional manner, independently
• Consuming spare parts from the warehouse/storage area and promptly updating the associated records in the IT software tracking system
• Joining regular internal team meetings and safety briefings
• Ensuring that tools and testing equipment is maintained and calibrated
• Analysing field service data trends and recommending process and equipment improvements
• Contributing to continuous improvement projects and initiatives 
• Providing training and support to new joiners and junior-level field service team members
• Leading safe-work practices and ensuring the safety of junior-level field service team members
• Reporting and escalating day-to-day issues to more senior field service team members or management in a timely manner
• Other duties as required

We are looking for a dedicated QA Engineer to join the client's team for a 12-month fixed-term contract. This role will be embedded with a key strategic client's Retail Banking team and will be part of a Tech Squad to execute on an exciting credit card product. You will get an opportunity to work on cutting edge technology and play a pivotal role in driving advancement in the bank's leading engineering practices. You will build and coach others to develop and automate the testing of robust, adaptable code that is always production ready. Through collaboration with other developers, your work will improve the banking experience for our client’s customers.

Quality Assurance Engineer Responsibilities:

• Able to design, develop and implement automatic test equipment and test programs for design verification and production testing.
• Responsible for conducting end-to-end testing to ensure the quality and reliability of cards banking applications.
• Write and maintain automated test cases and ensuring continuous improvement of the test automation practice.
• Contribute to the ongoing quality of both delivery and testing capability.
• Actively contribute to initiatives which support the growth and efficiency of the testing discipline.
• You coach team members to increase their capability and in turn the capability of the scrum teams and organization.
• You maintain a focus on personal development of soft skills including refining ability to operate in ambiguity and problem-solving skills.

• Help support gathering requirements and document Map “As-Is” user journeys and assist in developing “To-Be” experiences.
• Assist in user acceptance testing through the creation of test plans to execution.
