Visa Consulting & Analytics (VCA) Australia, New Zealand, and South Pacific (AUNZSP) is Visa's advisory division, working with Visa's clients (including card issuers, acquirers, and merchants) on a broad range of key business initiatives including strategy, proposition development, loyalty, operational optimisation, customer engagement and overall business profitability.

VCA is made up of three services lines - Advisory, Data Science and Managed Services, the latter being the execution arm of VCA. Our Managed Services teams (also known as squads) are embedded on client sites leading long-term engagements and delivering value primarily through implementation and execution services. We deliver objectives from a shared value agenda but are also closely connected to the broader VCA team, sharing knowledge, and bringing the best of Visa to the client.

We are looking for a dedicated Engineer to join the client's team for a 12-month fixed-term contract. This role will be embedded with a key strategic client's Business Banking team and will be part of a Tech Squad working on cutting edge technology to drive advancement in the bank's leading engineering practices, focusing on building a new card product. You will lead by example and coach others to develop and automate the testing of robust[SH1] [AN2] , adaptable code that is always production ready. Through collaboration with other developers, your work will improve the banking experience for our client’s customers.

Full-stack Engineer Responsibilities:

• Proficiency in collaborating with teams and technology vendors to support the integration of technologies, ensuring the implementation of robust and scalable systems according to established standards and guidelines.
• Ability to define system integrations, design patterns, and development standards to support cross-functional, multi-system solutions that are scalable and adaptable to meet the organization's current and future needs.
• Experience in creating and updating standard operating procedures and reporting in partnership with the Operations team.
• Expertise in coaching and mentoring engineers and team members to increase their technical capabilities and enhance the performance of scrum teams and the organization.
• Strong project management skills to deliver projects as per the plan and schedule.
• Advanced problem-solving skills and the ability to operate effectively in ambiguous situations.
• Develop comprehensive solutions using front-end technologies (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, Angular) and back-end technologies (e.g., C#/.NET development, Node.js, Python, Java, Ruby).
• Experience with database technologies (e.g., SQL, NoSQL, MongoDB, PostgreSQL).
• Design and implement RESTful APIs and microservices architecture to ensure system robustness and scalability.
• Foster effective collaboration with cross-functional teams to achieve project goals

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

We currently have a new opportunity for a Senior Software Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high quality software products and solutions that support our business operations.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritise technical solutions and product enhancements. You will help to drive and deliver the continued development of those technical solutions from concept to launch.

Our data team has expertise across engineering, analysis, architecture, modeling, machine learning, artificial intelligence, and data science. This discipline is responsible for transforming raw data into actionable insights, building robust data infrastructures, and enabling data-driven decision-making and innovation through advanced analytics and predictive modeling. 

Responsibilities:

• Work closely with the Data Analyst/Data Scientist to understand evolving needs and define the data processing flow or interactive reports.
• Discuss with the stakeholders from other teams to better understand how data flows are used within the existing environment.
• Propose solutions for the cloud-based architecture and deployment flow.
• Design and build processes, data transformation, and metadata to meet business requirements and platform needs.
• Design and propose solutions for the Relational and Dimensional Model based on platform capabilities.
• Develop, maintain, test, and evaluate big data solutions.
• Focus on production status and data quality of the data environment.
• Pioneer initiatives around data quality, integrity, and security.
