What You'll Do

The CAR Group Tax team is growing and we are looking for our newest team member: a talented and driven Senior Tax Advisor. If you’re an established Big 4 Senior Analyst or Junior Manager looking to make your first move to industry, or an industry tax professional looking to make your next move, this role could be perfect for you. Reporting to the Group Tax manager, you will be part of an integral team of tax professionals who roll up their sleeves and support the global CAR Group business in the following areas:

• Ensuring tax compliance across our global group of companies (tax effect accounting, financial reporting, income tax, FBT and BAS reviews) is completed accurately and in a timely manner.
• Ensuring internal tax reporting is completed monthly
• Undertaking regular risk reviews to ascertain that business positions taken are consistent with the group tax risk framework
• Research and draft tax papers to support tax positions taken by the business.
• Support the business as a trusted tax adviser to ensure tax risks are appropriately identified and managed.
• Assist with the execution of tax projects, tax transparency initiatives and M&A activities.
• Maintain tax governance processes, procedures and controls

We are seeking a highly ambitious payroll accountant to join our finance team in this newly created role.

As a Payroll Accountant overseeing Employment Hero’s internal payroll across multiple geographies, you play a pivotal role in ensuring accurate and compliant payroll processing on an international scale. Your responsibilities include meticulous review of payruns, collaboration with outsourced payroll providers, and coordination with diverse stakeholders across different regions. You will also be working closely with the accounting and compliance teams to ensure payroll-related journals and filings are processed accurately and in a timely manner.

The ideal candidate will be someone who is a great communicator with stakeholder management experience and who has great time management skills to meet deadlines.

As a Payroll Accountant, you will:

• Review payruns from the outsourced payroll provider for multiple geographies (AU, NZ, UK, SG, MY, PH), ensuring compliance with diverse international payroll regulations
• Navigate and understand the complexities of payroll processes across different countries and regions and resolve any issues/discrepancies
• Review WFH expenses
• Processing payroll-related journal entries and filings in a timely manner (eg. PAYG/PAYE, payroll tax, super, workers compensation insurance renewals, etc)
• Serve as primary point of contact for Finance with the rest of the business and external vendors in relation to all payroll matters
• Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations
• Assist with cashflow forecasting of payroll and payroll-related expenses
• Assist with external audits
• Propose and implement process improvements that enhance the efficiency and accuracy of the global payroll review process
• Testing of automated payroll
• Assist with GT payruns, as needed
• Other adhoc duties as needed

What will you bring 

• 2 - 3 years experience in a similar role
• Currently studying for CA/CPA qualification
• Relevant degree in finance/accounting 
• Experience running payroll in Australia and New Zealand is essential; experience running payroll in other geographical areas will be highly advantageous
• Intermediate to Advanced experience with Excel/Google Sheets
• Keypay experience essential

About the Role

We are seeking a tax guru to lead the tax function within our Finance Team!

In this role, you will need to be hands-on and possess a proactive attitude as we expand our global presence and navigate heightened global tax regulatory complexities. You will be responsible for managing all aspects of global tax operations, compliance, process improvements, and have a passion for making the complex simple through your knowledge of taxating related risk exposure.

We are looking for someone who can provide leadership and expertise in global tax compliance for ROLLER’s scaling business.

What You’ll Do

Global Tax Compliance:

• Develop and implement tax strategies to ensure compliance with international tax laws and regulations across various jurisdictions
• Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations globally and assess their impact on ROLLER’s tax position

Transfer Pricing:

• Maintain transfer pricing policies tn ensure they align with business activities and comply with relevant regulations
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure appropriate documentation and reporting for transfer pricing transactions

Tax Planning:

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify tax planning opportunities that optimise the company’s global tax position while ensuring compliance
• Provide strategic advice on the tax implications of business decisions and initiatives
• AASB / IFRS tax effect accounting

Country Specific Tax Matters:

• Manage relationships with external tax advisors and authorities in various countries
• Oversee the preparation and filling of tax returns in multiple jurisdictions including but not limited to federal/corporations, sales/VAT/GST, fringe benefits

Other

• Collaborate with finance and other business units to ensure alignment to tax matters related to business operations
• Provide training and support to internal teams on tax-related issues
• Ensure ROLLER is audit ready, data is available/automated where possible and all necessary documentation is prepared and maintained for audit purposes (if required)
• Championing the implementation and use of technology to make tax painless!

About You

• A seasoned tax professional with expertise in AU, US, and UK corporate and international tax
• Extensive experience in company processes, controls, cadences and have developed detailed and suitable plans to assess and remediate any gaps in tax advisory and compliance processes
• Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, enabling effective collaboration with internal teams, external partners, and senior management
• A keen eye for detail, and a strong desire to keep learning. You enjoy upholding high standards of excellence and integrity in the services you deliver
