About the Role (your why)

The Financial Reporting and Billing Analyst is a hands-on financial analyst responsible for day-to-day cost management, invoice generation and commercial reviews and analysis. You will achieve this by being proactive in identifying opportunities to perform value-added tasks to support the business in achieving its objectives.

Working with our dedicated customer teams, you will be the first point of contact for all financial queries. You will liaise with the finance team and the broader business to ensure a high standard of service is provided for all queries.

Our offices are based in Canberra or Melbourne, we like to bring people together in person when we can, but we are mindful of the benefits of working from home for work/ life balance. We therefore leave it to you and the team you join to figure out what works best! 

Please note that to be successful in this role you will need to be an Australian Citizen, and be eligible for Baseline/ NV1 Security Clearance.

What you’ll do    

• Collate and QA monthly invoices and supporting documentation
• Manage and resolve billing queries and escalation from the customer
• Follow up customer aged debt and purchase orders
• Prepare daily, monthly and ad hoc BAU reports and billing data
• Perform data trend analysis and present on billing trends across the delivery teams
• Establish and develop key relationships with the customer

What you’ll bring  

The nature of this role will suit a critical thinker with a high level of initiative, judgment, and integrity. You have an eye for detail, and you enjoy proofreading, analysing, and verifying the accuracy of the information provided to you. While you enjoy working on complex tasks, you also enjoy switching to routine tasks as required.

We are looking for someone who has excellent communication and presentation skills. You will enjoy establishing effective working relationships with both internal and external staff.

Key to your success in the role is an understanding of basic commercial and financial concepts. You will have solid Microsoft Excel skills – and be keen to get your geek on with a spreadsheet!

Role Highlights

The Insights Analyst will be a key member of our dynamic and fast paced analyst team, creating critical business and market insights that our clients rely on to measure and grow performance and direct their strategy.

You will gain experience in analysing primary voice of customer data, secondary macro data, and corporate case studies. Key responsibilities:

• Analysis of primary consumer data to provide recommendations and propose actions for client’s strategic decision-making
• Analysis of secondary data (economic, financial etc) to triangulate and contextualise RFI’s primary research
• Sourcing and analysis of desktop content to deepen competitive insight
• Accurate creation and detailed review of sensitive performance metrics used by our clients within core functions of their institutions, and for market updates
• Creating presentation decks which tell a compelling story, using data
• Cross-functional collaboration with team members, including sales, client services, operations and research teams in our Singapore, London, Toronto and Sydney offices
• Client interaction, including attendance at client meetings and a training roadmap for presenting to clients
• Communication of ideas, thinking outside the box and challenging the status quo
