What you’ll be doing:

• Manage and maintain appropriate systems to ensure effective and efficient day-to-day administration of programs including general correspondence, meeting minutes, purchasing, invoicing, document management, collation of data and reports. 
• Supporting administration of the Centre’s booking system (Bookable), including point of contact enquiries, maintenance of the booking system and administration of accounting processes.
• Administer the Centre’s learner enrolments, including the processing of enrolment forms and payments
• Ensure effective and efficient day-to-day operation of the Homestead Community and Learning Centre as per the Operations Manual.
• Manage customer service requests, complaints, general enquiries and transactions (where appropriate).
• Assist in the coordination of volunteer and program staff. 
• Assist in the compilation and delivery of marketing content including collation of information and maintaining relevant databases
• Manage the design and data entry of databases as required particularly maintenance of the Social Planet enrolment database.
• Help promote and support the participation of a wide range of users in the facility and Council programs through collaborative approaches and maintenance of day-to-day facility operational functions.

Position Description:

Veracross Associate Support Specialists provide the first level of customer support, working on our Technical Support Team to provide well-informed and timely responses to customer questions and issues. They act as a crucial link between internal engineering teams and product users. Job Responsibilities:

Position Purpose

To offer necessary assistance and support to individuals with disabilities, enabling them to live the life they want.

What you’ll be doing (Key accountabilities)

·         Engage with the person supported to understand their unique needs and preferences, supporting them in a safe way that is directed by them and that upholds their human rights.

·         Continually communicate with the individual in a way that is meaningful to them, including supporting a person’s use of alternative and augmentative communication systems when required.

·         Implement support plans tailored to individuals' needs, preferences, and interests, and report issues/concerns when they become apparent.

·         Utilise Person Centred Active Support to enable each person to successfully participate in everyday activities that are meaningful to them and of their choosing, including assisting individuals with various daily living activities, such as morning routines and evening preparations, personal care/hygiene maintenance, and household tasks such as shopping, cleaning, cooking, and laundry.

·         Implement Person Centred Active Support to assist individuals to develop and maintain social relationships by supporting attendance and participation in social events, recreational interests, work and/or education endeavours, and appointments of their choice.

·         Respect and advocate for personal choice and autonomy.

·         Administer medication and provide health supports (within scope of practice and training), as needed.

·         Where required and in agreement with each person, proactively and collaboratively engage and liaise with each person’s natural support network and other service providers to ensure continuity of supports for the person.

·         Actively participate in learning, reflective practice, staff meetings and supervision opportunities, to continually develop your professional knowledge and skills as a disability support practitioner.

Your Background (Skills and attributes)

·         Certificate IV in Disability (desirable, not mandatory).

·         Demonstrated experience in or a willingness to learn the skills required to provide personal care support to people in all areas of their lives.

·         A genuine commitment to the inclusion of people in their local communities.

·         Ability to network with a large range of people including members of the community.

·         Strong communication skills (language and literacy) with a demonstrated ability to maintain accurate and legible records.

·         Ability to take on responsibility and accountability to drive positive change.

·         Willingness to collaborate and build positive relationships to achieve common goals.

·         Can bounce back from setbacks to navigate challenges.​

·         Bring a flexible, positive, and self-motivated mindset to your interactions every day.

·         Commitment to, and preferably experience in, working effectively with people who have complex communication and support needs.

·         A current First Aid and CPR Certificate

·         A current NDIS Worker Screening and Working with Children Check (we can support you through the process of obtaining one or both checks if you don’t already have them).

·         The ability and relevant driver’s license to perform travel and work a variety of shifts, including weekends. Position may also require working active nights.

·         Compliance with OHS&W regulations, legislation, and Policies and Procedures is required. Successful completion of pre-employment safety screening checks, mandatory training, and their subsequent renewals is necessary.

Join our team and play an important role in enhancing our operational efficiency working as Maintenance Support Officer at Gove House, Nhulunbuy.

In this role, you will report directly to the Maintenance Coordinator and play a crucial part in maintenance works and services to be delivered to multiple contractors.

This position can either be residential on a 5:2 roster, working Monday to Friday 10 hours per day for local candidates to Nhulunbuy, housing is provided.

Or you can also FIFO on a 14&7 – 10hours roster from Cairns, Brisbane or Darwin.

Your responsibilities:

• Administer work orders using maintenance system, supporting contractors, ensuring all maintenance, both planned and reactive, is issued accurately to the relevant contractors.
• Update maintenance system to keep all work orders updated and progressing with a focus on overdue and outstanding items.
• Assist with preparing weekly, monthly updates and notes for client meeting including sub-contractor performance and overdue escalations.
• Utilize maintenance system to review trade workload and schedules, reallocating works orders as required.
• Support Maintenance Coordinator and perform other administrative or maintenance related duties to ensure all services are delivered.
• Assist with the preparation of preventive maintenance plans, managing and adapting these as required via the maintenance system.
• Report generation – ability to gather information, process and provide accurate information on accrual reports, work order reports, and overdue/outstanding JOB reports.
• Engage with contractors throughout the day to ensure they are aware of critical works and are working to complete open JOBS.
• Engage with tenants regarding Maintenance requests and services.
