As an Account Director you lead the relationship with your clients and ensure you approach all tasks strategically and with the right amount of hustle to push the boundaries and deliver for them. At We Are Social we truly believe we create Ideas Worth Talking About (IDWTA); you play a central role in making sure we deliver to that by ensuring you set the team up for success, foster great ideas and then make them happen. While the specific content of your role is clearly defined, the nature of the demands placed on us by our clients means that this role will evolve over time and needs a ‘can do’ approach to picking projects up and making them happen.

Your skills and experience

• You have about 5-8 years experience, preferably in another agency
• You are experienced in the sports and/or luxury industries
• You have a history of leading strong and trusted client relationships and extensive experience in budgeting, forecasting and resourcing skills
• You are a leader and are able to instil confidence in a multidisciplinary team and provide clear and thorough direction to ensure those around you are set up to succeed
• You are a true creative mind. You always look for out of the box ideas and you challenge the status quo
• You are up to date on daily developments in social. You are capable of sharing your knowledge throughout the agency and with clients
• You dare to do new things, you are ambitious and want to learn every day
• You have strong communication and presentation skills and you describe yourself as proactive, quick thinker and excellent problem solver
• You are an expert project manager, have a strategic outlook, and have excellent creative judgement
• You have experience working with creators and influencers, and managing talent relationships
• You feel comfortable with the responsibilities as mentioned above, but also see enough opportunities to grow and learn
• You are expecting a salary between $100,000 - $120,000 inclusive of Superannuation
• You have Australian working rights and are located in Sydney.

About the role

Reporting to the General Manager, you are responsible for the overall function of proactive sales, marketing and PR to maximise performance, drive RGI improvements, profitability and return on investment managing activity and total revenue generation. 

You should have proven record as a hunter and converter of business in a number of market segments. You will form strategic external alliances and partners to support the Hotel’s positioning and actively promote the Hotel and brand through community and professional involvement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve revenue targets and maximise profitability across the business.
• Execute sales strategies for the Hotel within designated region across all market segments.
• Conduct needs analysis relating to sales of each of the hotel to determine areas requiring particular focus.
• Act as primary point of contact for Hotels including the coordination and leadership of site inspections to assist conversion
• Manage the Hotel RFP submissions and maintain strong relationships with existing clients to encourage repeat business and referrals.
• Oversee the negotiation of contracts and agreements with clients, ensuring terms are favourable and align with company objectives.
• Support and champion the loyalty culture throughout the region including hotel recruitment, activation and member engagement initiatives.
• Drive sales activity within region including leveraging meeting planner to drive C&E revenues.
• Proactively engage with C&E sales and delivery of product.
• Maintain a comprehensive level of property product knowledge and actively sell all attributes of the Hotel including Conference facilities and Food and Beverage features
• Work collaboratively with Marketing and Revenue to ensure room night and revenue targets are appropriately supported.
