Project Engineer
Our client based in Melbourne is looking for a Project Engineer, the individual will utilise their underlying knowledge about professional practices and project management while being involved in planning, monitoring and controlling across a number of management areas:
Duties
• Develop the technical design and qualification/ commissioning documentation of the overall project.
• Produce specifications, drawings and other documentation that comprises the technical requirements for inclusion in tenders and contracts.
• Undertake the commissioning and qualification activities of the project.
• Report any deviations identified during commissioning and qualification back to Project Manager and/or Senior Project Manager.
• Prepare and seek approval of Capital Expenditure Proposals, as instructed.
• Raise and administer purchase orders for supply of goods and services.
• Assist as directed in the preparation of key project management documents.
• Provide assistance as directed in maintaining the configuration management system during project activities.
• Assist in or manage as directed construction activities.
• Develop and maintain collaborative external relationships with external consultants and contractors to aid in the delivery of projects design and construction activities.
Required
• Tertiary qualifications in engineering, or science. Technical Expertise
• Fundamental understanding of technical development concepts, tools and technologies as well as design techniques.
• Fundamental level of technical knowledge in one Engineering discipline and ability to solve problems in design, testing and deployment.
• Experience in troubleshooting, process engineering and ability to understand and implement client requirements.
• An underlying Project Management experience.
• An underlying process and engineering systems/services experience gained in the GxP industry.

Key Responsibilities

• For each testing stream for the project (ST, SIT, UAT, CVT & PVT) acquiring and analysing all relevant project documentation to determine testing coverage for each testing stream documented in the TOM format
• Liaising with business users, business analysts and developers to ensure that planned testing coverage meets their requirements
• For each testing stream for the project (ST, SIT, UAT, CVT & PVT) managing the test case creation (whether writing the test cases yourself, managing Test Analysts to do so or a combination of both) such that the test planning closes out on time and within the budget assigned
• For each testing stream for the project (ST, SIT, UAT, CVT & PVT) ensuring the test data and environment requirements are provided to the environment manager in a timely fashion to allow testing to begin on time
• For each testing stream for the project (ST, SIT, UAT, CVT & PVT) managing the test execution (whether executing the test cases yourself, managing Test Analysts to do execution or a combination of both) such that the test execution closes out on time and within the budget assigned
• Providing overall project test execution progress reporting using the assigned template daily including all testing streams
• For UAT specifically working with the business to manage the business execution on a day-to-day basis
• Logging any defects found during testing, escalate in accordance with set procedures and then work with build and design teams to rectify issues and then work to accept fixes back into the environment for re-execution.
• For each testing stream for the project (ST, SIT, UAT, CVT & PVT) ensuring all test information is tracked through-out execution and then summarising into a Test Summary Report using the appropriate template

Skills Required
• Previous successful test management of several projects including at least 5 years' experience as a Test Manager is essential
• Deep knowledge of the software Systems Development Lifecycle is essential
• Deep knowledge of test processes, practices and methods is essential
• A proven track record of managing and delivering successful test outcomes in a complex environment is essential
• Prior knowledge of software products from Netezza /AWS / SAS / Cognos/ Tableau is highly desirable
• Prior experience working in the Business Intelligence domain is highly desirable
• Prior experience working in the banking and insurance domain is desirable
• Prior experience working with JIRA and Confluence is desirable

Infravue As part of your proposed role, you will design, develop, and integrate engineering strategies and plans by combining mechanical, electrical, software, communication, and control engineering principles to improve the precision, efficiency, and overall performance of infrastructure assets. Designing, developing specification and programming communication and control systems, such as programmable logic controllers (PLCs), to automate processes and enhance precision and reliability. Develop and mentor mid-level/junior staff to develop technical, analytical and engineering skills. Proactively identify and implement initiatives to positively influence the desired team culture. Shares expertise and knowledge with others and demonstrates flexibility. Performance Building and testing prototypes of mechatronic devices, systems, or subsystems to assess performance, troubleshoot issues, and refine designs. Diagnosing technical faults in mechatronic systems and performing necessary maintenance, repairs, or adjustments to optimise performance of infrastructure / engineering assets. Demonstrates awareness of engineering design, construction and operational issues involved in projects.  Monitors and maintains quality while improving delivery processes through continue research and development activities. Clients Analysing and improving system performance, including energy efficiency, safety, speed, and durability, to meet client requirements. Makes presentations with skill and confidence. Networks and engages with clients to build long-term relationships. Lead client and stakeholder interface activities such as meetings, presentations, and workshops, maintaining proactive communications. Actively work with the Infravue team to seek new clients and assignments and lead the preparation of tenders / proposals for opportunities that align with Infravue capabilities. Proactively identify and lead internal business initiatives (e.g. engineering design or energy sector knowledge sharing and insights). Build strong relationships with colleagues and sub-consultants. Processes Establishing standards and policies for installation to ensure that mechatronic systems comply with relevant industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols. Applies specialist, detailed technical expertise, and compliance with Infravue’s systems and processes.
