About the role: As a Business Development Manager reporting to the Commercial Manager of Electricity Distribution in Jemena Networks, you will play a pivotal role in establishing new commercial pathways and network solutions within Jemena's electricity distribution network. This position involves developing and implementing optimal business models, navigating regulatory requirements, and leading negotiations to support Jemena Electricity Networks' (JEN) growth through the energy transition. Your strategic contributions will align with growing customer connection demands and network augmentation opportunities, potentially exceeding $100M in enterprise value. Key Responsibilities;
People Leadership: Lead and mentor your team to achieve performance goals, foster a positive culture aligned with Jemena's values, and facilitate career development opportunities.
Opportunity Realization: Develop and execute the commercial and business strategy for JEN, focusing on capturing incremental network connection value and exploring additional revenue streams across the electricity supply chain
Relationship Management: Building trust, fostering open communication, and consistently delivering value to all parties involved, both internal and external stakeholders
Manage & Lead Commercial Development and Negotiation: Drive commercial negotiations with key JEN customers, develop innovative business models, and ensure competitive network connection solutions are delivered efficiently.
Transaction and Execution: Develop internal business cases, secure senior approvals, and manage the end-to-end delivery of new business opportunities, maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders throughout.
A little about you:
Extensive experience in commercial strategy and negotiations for $50M+ projects, including business case development.
5-10 years in either account management, relationship management or business development roles, with a focus on high-value contracts.
Proven involvement in developing growth strategies and business models in regulated markets, especially in electricity transmission.
Tertiary degree in analytical fields such as commerce, finance, economics, law, or engineering.
In-depth understanding of NEM and Victorian electricity regulations, with broader knowledge of Australian regulatory regimes.
Strong conceptual, engagement, and negotiation skills, capable of managing multiple complex tasks concurrently.
Effective interpersonal and relationship management abilities to represent Jemena confidently with stakeholders.
Strong work ethic, taking responsibility for the entire business development lifecycle.
