Responsibilities

• Leadership and Team Management: Hire, lead, mentor, and inspire a team of software engineers. Foster a collaborative and innovative team culture focused on achieving project goals and maintaining high standards of quality. Unblock team members on difficult development challenges, and build a learning mindset.
• Technical Strategy and Architecture: Develop and execute the technical strategy for our products and services. Drive the architectural decisions to ensure scalability, performance, and maintainability of applications. Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to inform decision-making. Build the necessary processes to ensure our products are compliant with required certifications.
• Project Planning and Execution: Collaborate with product managers and other stakeholders to define project scope, timelines, and deliverables. Oversee the execution of engineering projects, ensuring they align with strategic goals and are completed within budget and timelines. Continuously evaluate and enhance development processes to improve efficiency, quality, and speed of delivery. Implement best practices for coding, testing, and deployment
• Product Evangelization: Be the face of our engineering team in internal and external stakeholder conversations, driving alignment and showcasing our work and its value to one and all. Handle customer objections and doubts as needed, positioning us as THE definitive solution in the market.

• Leadership Experience: Previous experience leading and managing software engineering teams. You have driven operational and engineering excellence improvements across teams, setting and maintaining standards for engineering teams. Strong hiring track record, where you have unearthed amazing developers and groomed them to be world class.
• Technical Expertise: 8+ years of professional experience in software development, where you have built things end-to-end. You have worked with rich front-end applications in React/Typescript, backend services in Elixir/Rust/Ruby/Go, with GraphQL and REST APIs. You understand the complete picture of building and deploying SaaS products on AWS Cloud and Google Cloud. You can work with SQL (like PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases and fundamentally understand how the backend and frontend infrastructure/services connect and scale.
• Strong Judgement: Based on experience and knowledge of the state of the art in software development, you make pragmatic suggestions for improving tooling and abstractions. You are comfortable making judgment calls on tradeoffs and edge cases in the user experience on your own. You have built things from zero, and can enable your team to do the same.
• Communication Skills: You have advanced English communication skills, and are equally comfortable talking to with fellow developers and external customers. You communicate nuanced ideas clearly, whether explaining technical decisions in writing or brainstorming in real-time.

• Startup DNA: You’re flexible, comfortable with ambiguity, and have experience scaling systems to support rapid growth. You have been a one-person army when needed, or worked as a founding engineer. You enjoy collaborating cross-functionally to accomplish shared goals and care about learning, growing, and helping others do the same. About the Role:

As the Senior Commercial Marketing Manager at Loam Bio you will play a pivotal role in driving the commercial success of our novel agricultural biological inputs here in Australia and fostering partnerships with farmers for their carbon projects. This includes overseeing all activities and resources associated with the branch to achieve agreed objectives, optimising profitability, and business efficiency with a strong customer focus, in a safe and socially acceptable manner.

Critical to this role is to engage the overall team to plan and coordinate daily activities and hold team members to account. This position plays an important role in achieving daily KPI’s and identifying/actioning process improvements, along with engaging support from other functional leads.
