The role:
F9 has a full time employment opportunity for a Civil Engineer to join our team, Perth-based, DIDO and FIFO depending on your preferences.
You will be offered the opportunity to work with dynamic and experienced project controls professionals on prominent projects for our clients throughout Western Australia and beyond.
In performing your duties, you will be able to call upon and be supported by the F9 team of resources and construction industry professionals. Our team come from a wide variety of professional backgrounds, providing a diversity of experience and insight.
Duties:
The key responsibilities of this position are as follows:
• Developing comprehensive project plans/schedules of Civil Construction projects by utilising the information provided in the construction documents, bill of quantities, quality standards of the project, construction drawings, methods, and construction procedures.
• Preparation and tracking of detailed procurement schedules enlisting all the construction materials required for the project.
• Monitor and adjust schedules to ensure timely project completion.
• Collaborate with architects, structural designers, and urban planners to integrate their designs and other requirements into the project plan.
• Develop and implement quality control measures to ensure that projects meet the specified standards and regulations.
• Prepare and provide accurate budget forecasts for planning purposes, helping stakeholders make informed decisions.
• Preparation of detailed manning histograms, highlighting all the Labor and equipment requirements on the project.
• Identify potential risks and challenges in the project and develop mitigations strategies with the coordination of site team.
• Prepare cost estimates for materials, Labor and equipment required for the project.
• Plan and execute comprehensive geotechnical site investigations, strategically obtaining soil and rock samples at different depths, developing testing protocols, analysing data, and collaborating with engineers to assess safe loading capacities for structures and allocating specified resources and time for these tasks.
• Studying and understanding all Civil construction drawings (Structural & Architectural Drawings) in conjunction with other MEP drawings and preparing detailed cost estimates for the project.
• Monitoring and capturing all the scope changes of the project including any variations and analysing their effect on overall project cost and time.
• Studying and analysing all the structural dead and live loads and their effects on the structure.
• Liaising with structural designers to ensure that all the structural designs prevent the risk of structure collapse, distortion, torsion, or undesirable vibrations in the project.
• Planning and developing plans for transportations systems such as roads, highways, and logistical supply systems etc. to ensure smooth execution of the project
Qualifications and Experience:
The successful candidate will have at least 5 years' experience in a project environment focussed on civil engineering.
The following attributes are also highly desirable:
• Proficiency in Primavera P6 planning software.
• Delivery experience of major projects.
• The confidence and ability to engage and present to clients at all levels.
• Experience in the preparation and defense of extension of time claims.
• The confidence to work autonomously within a client environment.
• A high level of skill and understanding of contemporary resource-based planning principles, industry safety standards, and various types of construction delivery methodologies.
• At least a basic knowledge of contract law as it relates to time management and claims
