Lead Engineer – Flooding and Hydrology

What will you do?

This is an exciting opportunity for a Flooding & Hydrology engineer to join our NSW Surface Water Team in Sydney/Newcastle. This will be a start of exploring more growth with a world-class company and various types and scales of projects within but not limited to NSW and ACT.

• Tackle the delivery of flood assessment on major Transport/Land/Water infrastructure/Dams projects across NSW/ACT.
• Collaborate across disciplines internally and externally with clients and public authorities to address technical queries and drive an optimum engineering solution.

The role

Due to recent project wins in the Water Resources, Transport and Advisory Markets we are growing our team. In this position, you will play an integral part in an ANZ team of highly skilled flooding specialist that ‘bring ideas to life’ for our clients.

In this role, you will conduct hydrological and hydraulic investigations and design for a wide range of projects through collaboration with other hydrology and hydraulic teams, drainage teams, Dams teams and water resources advisory teams.

What we are looking for:

• Bachelor or Masters’ level degree in civil or environmental engineering and tertiary qualification
• Have 10 + years of experience in a similar position
• Proficiency in TUFLOW, RORB, WBNM, and XP-RAFTS required
• Proficiency in GIS software such as QGIS, ArcGIS or MapInfo
• Familiarity with Dam’s related hydrology & breach assessment will be highly regarded
• Familiarity with Dam’s condition and consequence category assessments and yield studies will be highly regarded
• Ability to analyse, interpret and communicate information and modelling results
• Strong understanding of Australian Rainfall and Runoff (ARR) 2019
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively at both an internal and external client-facing level
• Ability to lead junior staff and provide mentorship
• Demonstrated experience managing projects to quality, time and budget
• Have an interest in technological advances and applying innovation

This Co-ordinator plays a pivotal role in ensuring seamless, well-coordinated administration across all business units.

The responsibilities will include:

• The planning, prioritising and scheduling of work on a daily basis
• Updating and issuing state of service reports daily.
• Maintaining appropriately sized channels and zones to ensure that customers receive timely and prompt servicing
• Liaising with the Operations Manager and Field Service Supervisors to establish service requirements and provide information, assurance and advice as required.
• Communicating all services issues in a timely manner to the Field Service Supervisor or Operations Manager.
• Maintaining a visual of all call-outs received from branches
• Allocation of call outs to meet customer expectations and service standards
• Generating reports for branches

To ensure your success in this role you will have:

• Experience in managing productivity and national operations (preferable)
• Exceptional customer service and leans quickly
• Strong communication skills both written and verbal
• Excellent Microsoft Office skills (tech savvy)

• Participating construction phase supervision while complying with sustainability and safety requirements.
• Undertake geotechnical engineering design and analysis on infrastructure projects, demonstrating analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Produce geotechnical engineering calculations and outputs, using relevant software such as gINT, Geostudio and Plaxis.  
• Conducts some geotechnical reports (desktop study / factual report / smaller project interpretive reports) independently to high quality level.
• Ability to review project deliverables.

The Role

We're on the lookout for someone to join our awesome Customer Service team. They’re the first point of contact for our owners and hirers (customers) via phone, tickets, and live chat. They help our customers with all sorts of things from finding the right vehicle to hire, helping with listings, verification checks and managing breakdown and accident call-outs.

If you would like to join this incredible team, you’ll need experience in a customer service role (ideally in a call centre). We’re open to your industry experience but insurance, travel, hospitality or retail would help set you up for success. Exceptional communication skills and the ability to actively listen and respond empathetically to customers is essential. You also need to be comfortable thinking on your feet and problem solving. Geographical knowledge and understanding of Australian and New Zealand locations would also be an advantage.

This is a fast-paced role so strong multi-tasking skills and the ability to switch between systems whilst talking to customers is required. This is a full time position working out of our headquarters in Newcastle, NSW. The team is very close-knit, fun and collaborative and sets all new team members up for success with a comprehensive onboarding and training program.

• Able to work a 7-day a week roster (mostly Mon-Fri but some weekends required)
