About the Role (your why)

We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Systems Engineer to join our high-performance Professional Services team.

This is a customer facing consulting position that requires exceptional collaborative skills and the ability to build strong partnerships with our customers and within Datacom.

The successful candidate will ideally have previous Professional Services experience with external customers and exposure to all aspects of delivering projects, including consulting, design, configuration, testing and deployment.

Please note that to be successful in this role, you must be an Australian Citizen and be able to achieve a Baseline or NV1 security clearance.

What you’ll do

At the moment, as the Senior Systems Engineer you will be focused on:

• In this key cross-disciplinary role you will work closely with our Customers, Partners, Sales and Technical teams.
• Ensure assigned projects are delivered on time, within budget, to agreed scope.
• Serve as the technical point of contact for implementation services and solutions. This may either be provided remotely or on-site.
• Providing pre-sales support and expertise to the sales team.

We are a pretty agile company, and are keen to respond to customer, technology and internal stakeholders’ changing requirements and this can mean we evolve in our roles to meet those needs.

What you’ll bring

To be successful in this role you must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience working with external enterprise customers in delivering projects in professional services environments.

Must have experience with design, implementation and optimization of:

• Windows Server, Active Directory, Exchange.
• Virtualization (VMWare, Hyper-V, AHV).
• Have experience in one or both of the following: Backup (Commvault, Veeam) OR Storage (HPE, NetApp, Lenovo & Dell)
• Automation and Scripting (PowerShell, Python)

You will have a curiosity & passion for customers and a proven ability to communicate solutions in a way that resonates with all levels of our customer’s. You must be comfortable in engaging both technical and non-technical staff and stakeholders.

• You can work both independently on competing priorities and as part of a team.
• You'll have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

About the role:
In this position, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful fulfillment of customer requirements. Your responsibilities will encompass stakeholder engagement, project oversight, and the coordination of internal teams to achieve performance objectives and enhance processes.

Other responsibilities include:

• Build and maintain strong customer/partner relationships to enhance customer satisfaction throughout pre- and post-sales activities.
• Collaborate with CDC teams, harnessing their expertise when needed.
• Strengthen CDC's ties with key customers, their on-site teams, and their clients.
• Support contract delivery by meeting specified KPIs.
• Generate, refine, and furnish client reports while ensuring compliance with contracts.
• Review and prepare client reports for external distribution and assist clients in comprehending and addressing queries.
• Organise and oversee client monthly business reviews, quarterly operational and security audits, and other compliance activities.
• Coordinate managed services projects, including obtaining quotations from partners/suppliers and ensuring high-quality project delivery with client sign-off.
• Promptly address all client inquiries, ranging from operational concerns to project quote/proposal sourcing.
• Develop company policies and procedures to streamline the fulfillment of major customer requirements. 

About you: 

• Proven experience within an Account Management, Service Delivery capacity, (with an exposure to Government/ Defence being desirable)
• Demonstrated expertise in managing services for larger scale clients.
• Proficiency in contract management, SLA reporting, problem-solving, and client relationship building.
• Work effectively with delivery leads to ensure consistent and clear communication on existing projects.
• Achieve client satisfaction, retention and growth targets as per account plan
• Competency in Microsoft Office suite, Microsoft Project toolsets and source code management.

Essential:

• Australian Citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain a NV1 Security Clearance.
