About the Role (Your Why)  

The Workforce Optimisation team is responsible for several outsourced projects and services for some of our biggest clients in Datacom. The Workforce Planning Manager is responsible for analysing, forecasting, and planning workforce supply and demand, as well as talent needs and gaps, to ensure that an organisation has the right people with the right skills to support its business objectives.

Our offices are based in Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane. We like to bring people together in person when we can, but we are mindful of the benefits of working from home for work/ life balance. Therefore, we leave it to you and the team you join to figure out what works best! 

Please note that to be successful in this role, you must be an Australian Citizen and be able to obtain a Baseline or NV1 security clearance.

What you’ll do   

The Workforce Planning Manager is responsible for (but not limited to):

• Analysing, implementing, and monitoring workforce planning initiatives to optimise and scale the evolving workforce and long-range plans.
• Collaborating with business leaders, strategic planning, HR, Finance, and other stakeholders across the company to review existing and future workforce needs and to ensure alignment with business objectives and financial goals.
• Collecting, interpreting, and evaluating workforce metrics to provide data-driven insights for internal and external talent pool assessments, headcount reviews, forecasting and business scenario planning, reviewing processes, and monitoring plan effectiveness.
• Lead the development, execution, and communication of the company’s workforce planning roadmap to optimise and scale an evolving global workforce and to create strategic long-range plans.
• Oversee workforce planning initiatives, including headcount metrics analysis, internal and external talent assessments, forecasting, plan roll-out, processes, and controls.
• Selecting, developing, and evaluating personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.

What you’ll bring  

• Extensive experience with workforce planning and scheduling in a large complex organisation – Ideally within a Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) environment
• Strong understanding of business requirements with an appreciation of business strategy, forecasting and workforce behaviour
• Ability to work on moderately complex assignments, requiring judgment in resolving issues and making recommendations.
• Assures adherence to budgets, schedules, work plans, and performance requirements
• Ability to interact with a variety of stakeholders and team members across different business units
• Blend of commercial, technical, and consulting skills.
• Strong financial management practices with a clear understanding of the relationship between costs, utilisation, and project revenue

As the Business Manager your responsibilities will include:  

• Ensure the performance of the business unit and each Team Leader meets benchmarks for state RTW outcomes.
• Implement strategies to proactively manage RTW performance in order to meet state benchmarks.
• Lead, supervise and coach team so that they undertake work in accordance with divisional priorities, policies and processes.
• Embed Managing for Excellence principles within business of regular progress reviews, annual performance appraisals and individuals meeting professional development requirements.
• Engage and lead direct reports to deliver their individual and team KPIs and develop and implement strategies to address areas of underperformance.
• Manage and monitor team resourcing and portfolios at business unit level.
• Oversee recruitment and selection and on boarding of new team members.
• Prepare business unit budget for Operations Manager (OM).
• Manage expenditure within budget and in accordance with delegations.
• Provide leadership and direction to Senior Consultants in order to meet financial performance expectations as per budget.
• Oversee and manage invoicing within the business unit ensuring sufficient documentation is completed and all billing is captured.
• Business unit to meet WorkCover accreditation requirements.
• Quality KPI to be met at business unit level.
• Demonstrate commitment to the Quality Management System (QMS) by performing all tasks in accordance with Kairros’ QMS and actively supporting all employees to do this.
• Regularly review risks (internal and external) including legislative changes, to support business planning and response.
• Perform all work in accordance with the HWCA National Consistency Framework and regulatory requirements.
• Actively identify opportunities for continuous improvement and encourage and foster this focus organisation wide.
• Actively provide feedback about the performance of the quality management system to Kairros’ Quality Management Representative.
• Routinely survey the internal and external environment to identify threats and opportunities to the business.
• Implement systems and processes to facilitate knowledge management and retention relevant to your role and the business areas you are responsible for.
• Undertake specific services assessments including worksite, functional, ergonomic, equipment, home and job analysis as required.
• Conduct initial assessments, identify RTW barriers and design/implement/monitor programs that assist injured employees return to the workforce as required.
• Develop and implement strategies to progress files and achieve high RTW rates with minimum case costs.
• Liaise with insurers, medical practitioners, employers and workers to achieve outcomes appropriate for all parties.
• Complete accurate case notes which reflect actions undertaken and any recommendations to achieve the RTW goal.

This role is accountable for supporting customers through claims lodgement and information gathering in order to assess claims. The Claims Service Consultant will also assess low complexity claims as well as assessing and initiating appropriate support options tailored to the customer’s needs where appropriate. 

In this role you will,

• Ensure compliance with TAL policies, procedures and guidelines procedures, ensuring claims management is in accordance with the TAL claims philosophy. 
• Adhere to external regulations (eg. Privacy and Life Insurance Code of Practice) and all relevant legislation and industry guidelines.
• Ensure all interactions with Customers, Advisers and other internal and external stakeholders adhere to TAL’s Customer Service Culture through the provision of high-quality, accurate and compliant work.
• Liaise closely across the TAL Claims and other relevant internal departments to provide support in project work (including system and user acceptance testing and procedural reviews) 
• Contribute towards a culture of process improvement.
