About the Role

We are seeking a Marine Operations Manager to join our business in Broome, WA. Reporting to the General Manager, this is a key leadership role responsible for the overall marine operations and delivery, including vessel maintenance of Horizontal Falls marine assets.

Key responsibilities include:

• Setting, delivering, and implementing operating plans for the marine operations and maximising the opportunities to achieve the budget and priority targets including continuous improvement, cost management, guest experience and operational excellence
• Providing strategic advice and recommendations for marine operations to the General Manager
• Driving a high-performance culture through delegating, mentoring, and overseeing the work performance of direct reports
• Ownership of marine operating procedures and best practice, driving the safety culture and always ensuring safety, risk and compliance is first class
• Planning and managing service, maintenance and repair programs that continually improve the efficiency, reliability, and presentation of the marine assets including vessels and pontoons to enhance the guest experience
• Actively managing all maintenance related contractors/third party providers – negotiations of pricing, service level agreements, volumes, and contracts
• Ensuring compliance with AMSA, DBCA and other regulatory bodies is maintained

About You

You will be an accomplished operational leader with sound commercial and financial acumen. You will have a proactive and solutions focused approach with a ‘can-do’ attitude to achieve the best outcome for business operations.

Ideally you will have experience in a similar role with exposure to or an understanding of the travel and tourism industry. Trade qualifications as a Vessel Master and/or Marine Engineer or sound knowledge will be beneficial.

This role works closely with our Operations Managers focused on our land and air based operations, along with our dedicated Marine WHS and Group Engineering team to ensure the success and efficiency of the business. About the Opportunity

This is a six-month secondment or fixed term contract opportunity. Reporting to the Head of, Strategy, PMO and Planning, the Manager, Strategy Implementation Office plays a crucial role in supporting the delivery of the strategic change required by Minderoo’s 2030 strategy.

They will lead the Program Management Office function within Minderoo supporting the success of strategy implementation by:

• Facilitating stakeholder alignment and coordination.
• Delivering reporting that provides a forward view of change efforts and anticipates potential problems.
• Championing consistent approaches, tools, and systems to help teams collaborate and deliver more effectively.
• Contributing to change management planning and delivery.
• Establish common program and change delivery frameworks and tools, to improve quality of project execution, including contributing requirements to improve enabling technology.

Manage the Strategic Implementation Office

· Coordinate the Strategy Implementation Office, ensuring effective management of cross-functional strategic projects and priorities that enable the 2030 strategy

Deliver enterprise reporting

· Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to deliver (and continuously improve) Minderoo-wide Executive and Board reporting to support decision making.

The ideal applicant with have a strong background in Quantity Surveying, ideally gained through the delivery of complex projects. Preferably you will have worked within a professional consultancy before, but those with a background in other areas, such as experience working for main contractors are encouraged to apply.

As a MEP Senior Cost Manager you will be able to work independently managing your own deliverables, but also work well as part of a team. You will strive to promote and maintain the highest of professional standards, while supporting junior staff to grow and learn through your knowledge and experience. We are looking for someone who could oversee more junior staff, though you will be supported by our senior management team and Commercial Sector lead who you will be working closely with.

• Leading the team to delivery MEP services for the life of the project from feasibility cost planning to agreement of final account
• Manage and develop our team to deliver our MEP services
• Lead MEP bid opportunities
• Working with the Queensland Director to continue to grow our MEP cost management opportunities
• Assisting on feasibility studies and writing procurement reports
• Estimating and cost planning to include producing and presenting the final cost plan to internal & external clients
