About this opportunity
The Reliability Engineer is responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and availability of assets, equipment, and systems at the Braeside site. The primary objective of this role is to execute reliability strategies, maintenance programs, troubleshooting processes, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance asset performance, reduce downtime, and improve overall operational efficiency for machines utilising Sulo assets. Additionally, this role supports the maintenance and improvement of all other site assets in collaboration with various stakeholders on an as-needs basis.
This is a hands-on position, requiring both on-site engagement with stakeholders and office-based work to capture data and establish best practices.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
- Implement reliability strategies and best practices to improve asset performance and minimise unplanned downtime on the assets specific to MGB Body and Lid manufacture
- Maintain preventive maintenance programs and schedules to ensure the integrity and reliability of equipment and systems.
- Provide technical expertise and support for troubleshooting complex reliability issues and promptly resolve equipment failures with clear and decisive action.
- Conduct reliability assessments, root cause analyses, etc to identify potential issues and develop mitigation plans.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Braeside & Somersby sites) to implement reliability initiatives and drive continuous improvement.
- Monitor and analyse asset performance metrics, reliability data, and maintenance records to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement.
- Lead reliability-centred maintenance (RCM) initiatives to optimise maintenance strategies, spare parts inventory, and resource allocation.
- Put into place procedures and operations which will effectively manage spare parts and consumables at optimum levels (MEX system).
- Deliver training programs and workshops to educate personnel on reliability principles, techniques, and best practices.
- Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements, safety standards, and industry best practices related to asset reliability and maintenance.
- Coordination of all maintenance contractors specific to the machinery and assets associated to MGB Body and Lid manufacturing.
- Responsible for conducting all required on-site quality testing specific to AS4123 .
- Prepare reports, and recommendations for management on reliability performance, initiatives, and improvement opportunities.
Your skills and experience
To be successful in this role, you’ll have:
- Solid experience in a technical or, maintenance related role supporting machines and equipment used in the injection moulding or related industry.
- Demonstrated understanding and competence of plastic processing equipment in regard to, electrical, Robotics, PC, Networks, PLC, hydraulic and pneumatic processes to maintain and trouble-shoot / fault find such equipment including its ancillary equipment.
- In-depth knowledge of reliability principles, methodologies, and tools, such as RCM, FMEA, and condition-based maintenance.
- Experience with reliability analysis techniques and software tools for data analysis and visualization.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to analyse complex issues and develop effective solutions.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to plan, execute, and monitor reliability improvement initiatives.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements, safety standards, and industry best practices related to asset reliability and maintenance will be advantageous.
