Nine’s Project Delivery Team is responsible for driving the execution of technology-enabled change projects across the Group.  Its purpose is to provide project structure, visibility and robust governance in delivering initiatives within scope, budget and time.

As a Senior Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role in leading the successful execution of projects from initiation to completion using appropriate agile and traditional delivery methods. Your expertise will contribute to Nine’s strategic goals by ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.

Day to day you will: 

• Lead and manage a Program of work including multiple project streams with cross-functional project teams, providing guidance, motivation and direction to ensure project outcomes

• Partner with Commercial and Transformation teams to manage the RFP process, process design and business case development for the selection of platform and system integrator 

• Proactively manage project scope, objectives, deliverables, and outcomes ensuring alignment with stakeholders and ensure scope changes are governed and controlled.

• Partner with Commercial and Transformation teams to manage the RFP process, process design and business case development for the selection of platform and system integrator 

• Monitor budgets, and provide accurate financial reporting to stakeholders. Identify cost-saving opportunities and manage budget deviations.

• Proactively identify and assess project risks, develop appropriate mitigation plans in consultation with stakeholders and implement these strategies

• Manage and collaborate with key stakeholders across Technology and the Business, from senior Executives to business SMEs and delivery resources

• Maintain open and transparent communication with stakeholders at all levels, providing regular project status updates, addressing concerns, and fostering positive relationships

• Anticipate and remove barriers along the way to keep the projects on track .

• Initiate, develop and facilitate Program Governance and reporting frameworks including working groups, steering committees, key stakeholder forums and key performance reporting including budget financials and KPI’s

• Ensure workplace health and safety compliance by adhering to Nine’s health and safety policies, guidelines and practices.

In an Senior Planner role, you will have knowledge in:

• Work in an integrated planning and cost environment within the project to optimise the use of available resources to complete work plan scopes within budget and time constraints.
• Ensure that the established planning and scheduling methodology is followed in developing project schedule.
• Develop Project Milestone and Progress tracking baselines.
• Assess subcontractor compliance with established scheduling methodology.
• Support the development of the Work Breakdown Structure to support project delivery.
• Perform analysis of schedule data; identify trends, issues, and areas requiring attention to the Lead Planner and the Project Team.
• Contribute to schedule reporting, including schedule forecast updates and schedule contingency management.
• Support schedule performance updates, analysis and reports in a timely manner.
• Ensure compatibility of contractors schedules with the integrated schedules/milestones.
• Analyse resource requirement and availability impacts on the schedule and recommend recovery options.

In this senior role you will work with major banking clients on significant, multi-year, high value lending and capital market projects in Australia and potentially further afield.

• Manage project initiation activities including identifying contractual obligations, client needs and goals, existing situation, necessary contacts and access to existing information as needed

• Manage project risk and assist with problem resolution

• Develop, define and execute project plans, project scope, activities, schedules, budgets and deliverables

• Plan and coordinate all aspects of technical projects from initiation through delivery.

• Ensure requirements for internal technology projects align to operational standards. Develops alternate requirements or document exceptions as appropriate.

• Serve as liaison between technical and non-technical teams

• Working with cross functional teams to delivery projects on time and to budget

• What you will need:

• Significant previous experience in a similar role ideally within Finance/Capital Markets/Lending domains

• Extensive knowledge of project management standards, processes, procedures and guidelines as well as various IT project methodologies and life cycles

• Advanced skills with project management software

• Strong credibility and the confidence to manage relationships with C-Suite clients and be willing to manage difficult conversations as required

• A bachelor’s in computer science, management information systems or business administration or the equivalent experience – PMP (Project Management Professional) certification may be required
