We are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer with a strong background in Kotlin to help develop scalable backend services on AWS. The ideal candidate will have experience working with AWS services, with a focus on building and optimising APIs.

Due to a significant project pipeline, AECOM’s Structures Group is seeking a highly motivated professional/intermediate level Structural Engineer to join our Buildings team based in Sydney. You will be given the opportunity to work closely with a team of specialists to develop your structural engineering knowledge and design skills on a range of local, regional and inter-state projects.

What will a day in this role look like:

• Design and analyse buildings and other related structures to ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards and regulations.
• Prepare structural calculations, drawings, specifications and other documents for design, construction and other related activities.
• Attend client meetings, Liaise with contractors, architects and other stakeholders to ensure compliance with design and construction requirements by providing technical advice and guidance on projects.
• Perform site inspections, review shop drawings and responding to contractors or client’s Request for information queries (RFIs).
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and best practices by undergoing site inspections and assisting with the review of drawings and calculations prepared by other engineers.

You will work closely with Games Designers to collaborate in the development of gameplay systems. This would typically be focussed on player 3c’s in a multiplayer context.

• Define and develop prototypes in collaboration with the Design team
• Participate in the architecture, design and implementation of the gameplay code following the Game Design intentions
• Work within the constraints of the existing game engine to meet performance and quality benchmarks
• Look for innovative tools and techniques allowing to achieve the best gameplay quality possible
• Interface with all disciplines (game designers, animators, engineers, ...) to ensure that the constraints are well integrated in the game development

In other words, our systems manage all revenue associated with broadcast.

You’ll be joining a new team as a part of a key piece of CRM integration work within our sales systems - day to day you’ll be working with AWS, developing API’s, and ensuring an overall robust integration.
 

• Design, develop, and maintain integration flows using various platforms, APIs, databases, protocols, and data formats.
• Collaborate with and review code from other developers in the Commercial Products team to ensure each integration maintains a consistent level of technical standards set by the team.
• Implement and enforce robust security practices, including knowledge of OIDC/OAuth.
• Develop and maintain system integration architecture and comprehensive documentation.
• Participate in and, when required, facilitate team ceremonies.
• Work with other engineers to peer review code, solve problems, advise on best practices, and uphold high technical standards.
• Mentor engineers in cloud development practices, with a focus on AWS.
• Ensure performant database operations, particularly with SQL Server, Redis, and PostgreSQL.
