• Operate and troubleshoot multi-vendor network to identify and resolve issues quickly.

What will a day in this role look like:  

• Assist in the planning, design, and delivery of rail infrastructure projects, including track design, earthworks, drainage, and civil structures
• Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to develop integrated solutions that meet project requirements and client specifications
• Conduct technical analysis and design calculations, ensuring compliance with Australian rail standards and safety regulations
• Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and reports
• Support project management activities such as cost estimation, risk management, and scheduling
• Collaborate with senior engineers and project managers to ensure the timely and successful completion of projects
• Contribute to client presentations and business development initiatives

What will a day in this role look like:  

• Lead the design and delivery of electrical systems for rail infrastructure projects, including power supply, traction and lighting systems
• Manage and coordinate project teams, ensuring all designs meet client specifications, safety standards and industry regulations
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated, high-quality engineering solutions

• Software development exposure/troubleshooting experience in one or more of our supported languages (JavaScript, Java, Ruby, .Net, PHP, Python, Objective-C, or Swift)

As a Professional Highways / Civil Engineer in the Sydney Highways Team, you will be responsible for contributing to the design and development of transport infrastructure projects.

You will work closely with senior engineers and project managers to deliver technical solutions that meet client requirements and design standards.

Your role will involve co-ordinating the evolution of the design, preparing technical reports, and ensuring project deliverables are met within specified timeframes.

What Will a Day in This Role Look Like:

• Technical Design: Engage throughout all stages of the project, including optioneering, strategic planning, conceptual design, detailed design, and construction support. Undertake highways/civil design such as geometric layout, barriers, signage, and line markings, ensuring compliance with project specifications and standards. . A basic understanding of other engineering disciplines such as pavement design, drainage systems, structures and utility coordination is also beneficial.
• Design Coordination: Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders to ensure on time project execution. Coordinate design documentation and drawings with other engineering and drafting disciplines. Conduct quality reviews of design documentation and deliverables to ensure accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
• Site Visits: On occasion you may be asked to conduct site visits and inspections to assess project progress, review technical issues, and ensure construction activities align with design specifications.

The role plays a critical part in building and maintaining resilient threat detection and response processes that align with the Cuscal’s cybersecurity strategy, protecting sensitive data, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

• Lead the design and continuous improvement of security monitoring, detection, and alerting systems.
