Australian MineTech organisation seeking an IT Network Systems Engineer Your new company
A global Australian mining technology organisation with operations throughout the world are seeking an IT Network Systems Engineer (with experience working within the mining/resources domain) to work on a variety of projects for a number of mining companies across Queensland.
Your new role
Establish many years ago and headquartered in Australia, this organisation services the technology needs of mining companies throughout the world. With operations in six continents along with several offices in Australia, this organisation works with some of the biggest mining companies in the world. With the aim of enhancing how mine sits operate through the use of technology, this organisation is going through a stage of growth to be able to meet their client's technological needs.
Based in Brisbane your new role will see you work within the dedicated multi-disciplinary Queensland technology team focused on providing solutions across region. Within this team you will focus on the design, build and rollout of custom network solutions for several well-known mining organisations with sites throughout the state (from the Mackay Bowen Basin to Weipa and everything in between).
Specifically, you will be focusing on the end-to-end delivery of networking solutions for the mines by working with multiple internal departments such as the with the pre-sales team (from a technical perspective to provide your expertise and knowledge to clients), the design engineers (to map out the design of the network solutions), the hands-on IT engineers (to deliver the solutions) and the IT support team (to help diagnose any faults on the system once implemented) among others.
Due to the nature of this role onsite visits to mine sites throughout QLD will be required as and when dependent upon each individual project's stage/state. This travel will be in a FIFO capacity from Brisbane with all flights, accommodation and meals provided (alongside which includes a site allowance to compensate you for the travel which varies depending upon the site and length of stay).
To summarise, this role will see you work with organisations across the state to deliver custom built network solutions with no two projects being the same!

What you'll need to succeed
You will need experience/knowledge across as much of the following as possible:
The Cisco technology domain alongside other networking technologies such as HP, Moxa etc
Network/Optical Fibre infrastructure designs and planning
Managing and configuring switches, routers, access points, etc
Other general IT Infrastructure/Networking technologies
Stakeholder management
Vendor management
Technical documentation
Clear spoken and written communication skills
Working within the mining/heavy industries domain
The following are not essential but beneficial:
Linux/Unix based distros
Cisco Certifications (e.g. CCNA, CCNP routing, switching and wireless)
Understanding of two-way radio technologies such as Motorola, Tait, ICOM and Kenwood
ACMA Cable registration
Leaky feeder experience
