The opportunity  

Reporting to the Corporate Affairs Manager, our Social Media Advisor will be an integral part of our growing, best-in-class shareholder engagement, marketing and communications team. Through social media content, newsletters and digital marketing, the team is essential to Wilson Asset Management’s strategy. Our goal is to establish a market-leading online presence that reflects our strong heritage and to make a positive difference to shareholders and the community. 

In this role you will be responsible for developing and executing our social media strategy, with the goal of enhancing the online presence of Wilson Asset Management, building the profiles of our Chairman and investment team, growing the awareness of our brand, products and events, and driving shareholder acquisition and retention.  

• Develop and implement comprehensive social media strategies to support our business goals with measurable KPIs. 

• Develop a social media calendar in coordination with the Corporate Affairs and Marketing team. 

• Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging social media platforms. Recommend and implement innovative approaches to enhance our online presence and stay ahead of competitors. 

• Create, curate and manage high-quality, engaging content tailored to various social media platforms such as LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. 

• Monitor comments and respond to inquiries in a timely and professional manner. 

• Manage social media advertising campaigns, including budget allocation, targeting and performance analysis. 

• Collaborate with internal teams, including the finance, investment and operations teams to ensure cohesive messaging and to integrate social media efforts with broader marketing campaigns. 

• Monitor and analyse social media performance metrics, providing regular reports and actionable insights to optimise engagement and growth. 

Our Ideal Candidates  

• Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications or a related field. 

• Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Social Media Advisor or in a similar strategic role, preferably within the financial services or funds management industry. 

• A strong understanding of social media platforms, trends and best practices, and will the ability to translate Wilson Asset Management’s investment insights into compelling and timely digital content.     

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an eye for detail and creativity. 

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. 

• Proficiency in social media advertising and paid campaigns. 

• Demonstrated ability to analyse data and translate insights into actionable strategies. 

• Strong understanding of analytics tools and content management systems.   

• Experience in crisis management and the ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism.

The Senior Communications Adviser will play a critical role in supporting all Communications related activity across the relevant AFCA area. Reporting to the Manager of Strategic Communications, this role will manage and contribute to communication items to be delivered across various channels. Typically, in this role you will:

• 3+ years in social media management and content creation within a Marketing team or agency. Proven track record in developing and executing successful social media strategies including shooting content using smartphones, with a creative/campaign portfolio of social media work to match
• Proficiency in digital marketing tools and analytics platforms (e.g. Google Analytics, Hootsuite, Later) and managing brand reputation via social media channels and review sites 
• Strong understanding of social media trends, algorithms, and best practices.
