Process Responsibilities

• Own and enforce effective change management for all payments-related processes, including financial crime prevention, integrity validations, and reporting.
• Maintain a well-governed process directory to enhance operational efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with payments industry SLAs.
• Ensure adherence to AML/CTF reporting obligations.
• Accountable for the execution of operational risk controls.
• Oversee the timely execution of manual payments processes.
• Ensure accuracy in end-of-day processes and confirmation of payment settlements.
• Resolve or escalate payments-related incidents in collaboration with the Payments Delivery Team.

Other

• Initially, play a key role in shaping the newly established Payment’s function within the organisation.
• As a greenfield team, you will work closely with the Payments Delivery Team to help define and communicate the needs and priorities of Payments Operations, establishing a strong foundation for this function.

John Crane is actively recruiting a Service Operations Manager who will join the team based in Australia . Reporting to the Regional Service Operations Manager, he/she will manage the day-to-day operations in both workshops and onsite , ensuring compliance to legislative and Company procedures as well as relative HS&E directives and Quality standards. He/she shall lead the Service Centres team toward achievement of business objectives in line with divisional business plan. Maximise customer service levels through efficient deployment of process and procedure, driving continuous improvement with and through the team. An effective Leader by example with total focus on the highest level of customer service provision. To effectively communicate across all departments within the business to ensure timely closeout of issues impacting the service process and our customers. To effectively communicate and support the Sales team providing regular and consistent feedback relating to customer requirements within the service process.

• Safety/Quality: To ensure that service activities/environment meets group standards relating to HSE/Quality at all times.
• Service order processing: plan, execute and monitor the workshop activities. Through effective use of business system tools and good communication across the team, ensure that the workshop loading is balanced and that costs/KPI are monitored and objectives are being met in line with demand.
• People development. Review the performance of the team, support personal skills growth with adequate training and development plans. Coach and mentor less experienced engineers, check quality of their work and help them diagnose and solve problems.
• Provide strong technical and service support to all customers, collaborate with Area Managers in achieving Sales target objectives. Attend site for seal installations and or troubleshooting, producing comprehensive failure reports with analysis and recommendations.
• Performance Plus: support Reliability Team on Global Service contracts execution, monitoring delivery performances and other contractual KPI, assure adequate stock levels are held in the Service centre to meet SLA.
• Support EU sales Managers for development and growth of our service portfolio, by implementing business strategies as well as supporting new business development
• Continuous Improvement: To be an active change agent driving improvement in process and procedure. Support organizational and operational changes in line with company guidelines, implement best practices and new standards.
• To ensure that group and divisional communication is cascaded to the team, monthly team meeting covering HSE/Quality and business performance such that staff are fully aware of any issues/directives at all times.

• Monitor the quality of food and beverage service to ensure customer satisfaction.
• ordering and managing inventory, track waste, reduce overstock, monitor stocks, and ensure cost-effective operations.
• Collaborate with event coordinators and chefs to ensure successful execution of banquets and events.
• Coordinate with other departments to deliver seamless service during events.
• Report to the Director of F&B on operational matters and provide regular updates.
• Maintain clear and effective communication between F&B departments and other hotel departments.

The Opportunity

Our Port Kembla Manufacturing facility is looking for an Operations Shift Team Leader in our Hot Strip Mill team based in Port Kembla. As a part of the broader Australian Steel Products portfolio, we have six major manufacturing sites at Port Kembla that deliver a variety of products, innovative solutions and services to our export and domestic customers.

The Hot Strip Mill is a key asset in the BlueScope Steel Supply Chain that provides a range of hot rolled product into the domestic and export markets including Hot Coil Processing, Coil Plate, Slitting, Flat Bar and Welded Beam processing.

In this role, you’ll ensure the shift operations teams are focused on the delivery of exceptional performance whilst taking every opportunity to minimise cost and waste. Supporting your team and the department, you’ll focus on encouraging continuous improvement strategies, and actively supporting management during change initiatives. You’ll lead and manage the team’s success through their performance and productivity to ensure our business plan objectives and targets are continually met.

This permanent opportunity works on a 7-day roster, 12 hours - days and nights shifts. When not relieving, you will work Monday to Friday, 8 hour days. You will be working on improvement projects during this period. 

What Will You Do?

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will demonstrate your leadership skills and be responsible for:

• leading and supporting the shift operations, including managing operators, electrical and mechanical trades and the departments Roll Shop team to achieve business targets and ensure operations are within standards
• ensuring safety standards are never compromised, making suitable changes when risks and opportunities are identified
• supervising the operational activities and striving for business improvements and manufacturing excellence
• coaching, mentoring and developing the team to enhance capabilities
