As Operations Supervisor – City Presentation, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safe, effective, and efficient delivery of services to the Hume community.

What you’ll be doing:

• Provide effective guidance and supervision to City Presentation group employees, to engage and inspire employees to demonstrate organisational values aligned behaviour, and to optimally achieve service standards.
• Supervise, guide, and maximise the performance of the City Presentation group by participating in the induction, recruitment, performance management and training (internal and external) of employees.
• Supervise the services delivered by the City Presentation group, including, shop cleaning, activity centre and precinct cleaning, road and pavement sweeping, graffiti removal, underground drainage cleansing, and city presentation compliance, ensuring service continuity, achievement of service standards, and the provision of quality customer service is maintained.
• Contribute to the ongoing process of plant and equipment assessment and replacement in consultation with teams, Coordinator Waste Operations, and Fleet Services.
• Support the implementation of allocated actions and the achievement of targets from Council’s strategic documents, including the Waste and Resource Recovery Strategy 2022-2030. ¡
• Ensure the timely and effective delivery of allocated actions from the department Business Plan.
• Ensure the City Presentation group is customer focussed, responding to all internal and external enquiries and issues in a timely, accurate and professional manner, in line with Council’s policies and procedures. 
• Actively monitor the achievement of service quality and delivery benchmarks, including Service Level Agreements, to meet Council, customer, and community expectations.
• Provide input into the development of the Waste Operation unit's budget, including fees and charges. 
• Monitor expenditure, ensuring expenses are within budget and correctly allocated, providing regular reports on expenditure and forecasts to the Coordinator Waste Operations.
• Provide high-quality, professional written and verbal reports, presentations, and advice to the Coordinator Waste Operations, Manager Waste and Sustainability, other departments, and other agencies. 
• Regularly report to the Coordinator Waste Operations on City Presentation group performance and issues, proposing and discussing solutions as needed.

The skills and experience you’ll bring to the role:

• Demonstrated supervisory and leadership skills and ability to manage and lead a diverse team of multi-disciplinary staff, preferably in an operational context within a Local Government environment. 
• Demonstrated experience complying with and working to Occupational Health and Safety regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Experience and working knowledge of waste management and operations.
• Understanding of investigation processes and enforcement powers of authorised officers in relation to litter, illegally dumped waste, graffiti, and other city presentation matters within Victoria.
• Well-developed customer service and communication skills, including the ability to communicate clearly with people from a variety of backgrounds.
• Demonstrate the ability to cultivate and sustain effective working relationships with a diverse array of stakeholders.

Required Certifications & Qualifications: 

• Tertiary qualifications in operations, safety, business, management, or a related discipline with relevant experience working in the field.
• Current driver’s licence (Heavy Rigid licence and/or experience driving sweepers highly regarded).

As the Regional Advisor, Sector Support & Development (SSD), you will play a pivotal role in preparing Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP) organizations within the Eastern Metropolitan region, as well as on a national scale, for the evolving landscape of aged care reforms. This position involves fostering collaboration, enhancing provider readiness, and promoting programs underpinned by diversity, wellness, reablement, and restorative care principles. Your goal will be to ensure providers can effectively adapt to these principles while maintaining high-quality services for older Australians.

You will build and nurture strategic partnerships within the CHSP network and the broader aged care system, facilitating communication and sharing best practices. In addition, you will lead efforts to coordinate and deliver impactful training, education, and resource dissemination, helping CHSP providers align with reforms, aged care quality standards, and the new rights-based Aged Care Act.

Key Responsibilities:

• Drive provider readiness by embedding aged care reforms, with a focus on diversity, wellness, and reablement.
• Engage CHSP providers to share updates, address issues, and promote resources about aged care reforms.
• Lead and participate in partnerships and networks, strengthening communication pathways at both regional and national levels.
• Broker, coordinate, and deliver training and education to service providers and workforce, with a focus on inclusivity and quality standards.
• Evaluate and support providers in understanding service impact and implementing restorative care principles.
