The Tasmanian Audit Office is seeking a Senior Manager who will not only deliver exceptional financial audit services to our clients, but also manage and develop staff and contribute to driving innovative solutions within the Financial Audit Services team.
You will:
- oversee a team of audit professionals, providing mentorship, guidance, and development opportunities
- lead and manage financial audits, ensuring the timely and accurate completion while adhering to quality, standards and regulations
- contribute to the overall direction of the Financial Audit Services business unit
- build and maintain strong relationships with our clients, providing exceptional service

Skills and experience:
- Financial auditing: Expertise in conducting financial audits, including assessing internal controls, evaluating financial statements, and issuing audit opinions.
- Team leadership: Lead and manage a team of audit professionals, providing guidance, mentorship, and development opportunities.
- People management: Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork and employee engagement.
- Strategic thinking: Contribute to operational planning and decision-making processes, aligning team objectives with the overall goals of the organisation.
- Technical expertise: Knowledge of relevant accounting and auditing standards, regulations, and best practices.
- Communication skills: Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Problem-solving: Analyse complex problems, identify solutions, and make sound judgments.
- Relationship building: Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders, management, and staff.
