We are looking for a skilled Rigid Driver who is motivated and physically fit. Reporting to the Operations Manager in our Alice Springs depot, you will be available from Monday to Friday.  You will be an experienced truck driver and also be licenced and able to operate a forklift. In your capacity as Driver you will be required to undertake deliveries and pickups from the metropolitan area of Mackay or Cairns.

• Ensure special permits and other documents required are held when transporting cargo on national routes.

Role will include

Organise the planning, leading and control of all production and yard operational service effectively in order to meet requirements
Perform monthly P&L reporting, investigate, and articulate the variance
Provide day to day support, mentoring and leading including development of team members
Promote a continuous improvement service culture within the branch and implement quality principles
Control the total labour force except for the office staff by working with the various supervisors
Control the hiring of casual labour to match the level of activity
Control the work of any sub-contractors working on site
Ensure Quality System and total quality management is implemented and understood for all aspects of service, workmanship, procedures, work instructions and conformance to company standards
Ensure the timely processing of vehicles and liaise with clients and client liaison officers to assure this
Review all measuring equipment calibration records and arrange for re-testing/calibration as required
Supervise the operation of the parts store to ensure adequate stock levels and quarantine of defective parts
