OVERALL, PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The role is responsible for responding to, and actioning, customer enquiries which could not be resolved via TGE First Call resolution process. The Freight Investigator role is located on the depot floor enabling the location of freight and resolution of escalations and enquiries. The role is required to respond to customers in line with agreed Service Level Agreements and work to prevent reoccurrence by working with internal stakeholders to identify the root cause of the issue. The role is also responsible for the accurate representation of freight in their care (correctly scanned, easily identifiable and retrievable).

About the Role

We are looking for a Logistics Supervisor (Day Shift) to join our site in Morwell. Responsible for up to 24 team members over 4 crews, managing the warehouse operations. Other responsibilities include managing external transport of finished product to 3PL providers, receiving deliveries from other sites and suppliers, waste removal and managing our Forklift fleet. Utilising your previous experience of leading teams, you will identify opportunities to develop your people and continuously improve the operations.

Other responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with national and site safety systems, procedures and policies to ensure that daily operation is in a safe work environment

• Ensure the timely despatch of product to meet customer order requested delivery dates and time windows to support and improve the achievement of DIFOT

• Establish and implement the daily Dock schedule. Report daily on adherence to schedule.

• Ensure co-ordination of transport resource requirements to match daily dispatch schedule

• Liaise with Transport providers to ensure Daily dispatch and transport plans are managed and maintained

About you

• Hands-on leadership experience and ideally working in a FMCG Supply Chain environment or cold-chain networks

Responsibilities / Tasks

The Co-ordinator requires strong collaborative skills and the ability to work globally with colleagues to discuss the team's service and parts offers and highlight key sales service benefits to customers who have recently invested in new GEA equipment. As a day-shift Manufacturing Supervisor at Moderna, you will play a central role in our mission to produce safe, effective mRNA vaccines. This position requires a balance of scientific understanding, operational leadership, people skills, and digital acumen. Your main responsibilities include managing production timelines, ensuring cGMP compliance, and overseeing health and safety regulations. Here's What You’ll Do:

Within 3 Months, You Will…

• Familiarize with Moderna’s safety procedures and local HSE laws, ensuring strict adherence.

• Begin developing batch records, SOPs, and training materials for commercial programs.

• Work autonomously within GMP, SOPs, and manufacturing documentation.

• Initiate incident and HSE event investigations.

• Start managing the training and development of the manufacturing team, including fostering a collaborative relationship with the Night Shift team.

Within 6 Months, You Will…

• Collaborate with QA for timely disposition of commercial batches.

• Investigate and open deviations, establishing corrective actions.

• Monitor and manage team performance, including regular one-on-ones and addressing non-performance.

• Coordinate with Supply Chain for inventory management and process orders.

• Address equipment, process, and digital issues rapidly and effectively.

Within 12 Months, You Will…

• Be recognized as a mentor and trainer, elevating team capabilities.

• Ensure efficient resource utilization for mRNA medicine manufacturing.

• Implement KPI-based performance monitoring and corrective actions.

Here’s What You’ll Bring to the Table:

• Typically, 5-7+ years of experience in a GMP manufacturing environment

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, Chemistry, Chemical engineering, Biomechanical engineering, Bioengineering, Biomedical engineering, Biochemistry or related field preferred

• Proven track record of success in a fast-paced production environment at a biotech/pharmaceutical company preferably in GMP

• Ability to collaborate fluidly with peers, supervisors and cross-functional support groups required

• Exceptional written, oral communication, and organizational skills required

• Understanding/Detailed knowledge of regulatory requirements specific to mRNA drug products and vaccine production

• Expertise in quality control measures and assurance processes specific to pharmaceutical manufacturing

• Knowledge of validation processes for manufacturing equipment and processes

• Ability to analyze production data and generate reports for management

• Specific methodologies for continuous improvement, such as Lean, Six Sigma, or others.

• Experience in leading Kaizen events or other process optimization initiatives

• Optimize Production and Supply Plans: Take full control of the short-term production, release, and supply plans. This involves identifying potential deviations from expected due dates and promptly addressing these issues through well-structured internal governance meetings.

• Strengthen Collaboration with Warehouse Operations: Work in tandem with the warehouse operations lead to support the site supply chain lead. This collaboration aims at setting clear supply priorities and ensuring consistent and efficient material flow to meet production demands.

• Capacity Planning and Risk Management: Oversee the site's capacity for Drug Substance (DS) production over tactical horizons. You will be responsible for optimizing this capacity based on inputs from the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process, and supporting the development of a comprehensive and optimized production plan, highlighting major risks, necessary decisions, and preparing materials for monthly supply review processes.

Within 12 Months, You Will…

• Drive Continuous Improvement: Lead the charge in continuously enhancing the site's supply chain processes. This will involve identifying areas for improvement, developing strategies for optimization, and implementing these changes effectively.

• Performance Monitoring and Problem Resolution: Conduct regular performance evaluations, focusing on metrics such as on-time supply to plan, inventory levels versus target, and critical material inventories. Utilize root cause analysis to pinpoint systemic issues and lead the charge in resolving these issues, ensuring that target performance levels are consistently achieved.

• Material Availability and Data Management: Collaborate closely with the Global Material Planning team to ensure material availability on a weekly and monthly basis. You will also be responsible for maintaining adequate planning and master data parameters, such as Minimum Order Quantities (MOQ), Lead Times, and order frequency, in close collaboration with master data management and the global supply chain team.

Here’s What You’ll Bring to the Table:

• BS/BA in Supply Chain, Science or Economics/Finance with 10 years’ experience.

• 8+ years’ experience as a Production Planner within Biotech, Pharma or other related batch production manufacturing environments. DS manufacturing Site experience strongly preferred.

• 5+ years’ experience with SAP MPS and MRP

• APICS/ASCM CPIM and CSCP accreditations preferred.

• Working knowledge of site supply chain processes including demand management, S&OP, production planning, capacity planning, material planning and procurement, order fulfilment, master data and life-cycle management.

• Demonstrated ability to lead through influence, at all levels, in a complex environment with matrix organization.

• Demonstrated ability to collaborate across boundaries (functional and cultural) and form effective working relationships with colleagues.

• Customer and business focused – determined to deliver successful outcomes in a cost-effective way.

• Demonstrated change management and process management experience is preferred: demonstrated usage of data to drive process improvements.

As a Manufacturing Associate in the Drug Substance division at Moderna’s Resilience Site in Australia, you will play a crucial role in the production of mRNA vaccines. This position demands a blend of scientific knowledge, operational expertise, and digital proficiency. You'll be an integral part of a team dedicated to producing safe and effective vaccines, upholding strict cGMP compliance and contributing to operational excellence in a dynamic, technology-driven environment.

Here's What You’ll Do:

Within 3 Months, You Will…

• Master safe work practices and adhere to Moderna’s safety procedures and guidelines.

• Get accustomed to gowning procedures and maintain housekeeping standards in your assigned area.

• Begin participating in incident investigations and CAPA tasks.

Within 6 Months, You Will…

• Execute operational activities with adherence to cGMP, SOPs, and manufacturing documentation.

• Collaborate closely with QA for documentation closure needed for commercial batch disposition.

• Engage in troubleshooting routine equipment, process, and digital issues promptly.

Within 12 Months, You Will…

• Actively participate in investigations of deviations and CAPA tasks.

• Maintain training records and associated documentation.

• Contribute to continuous improvement projects, demonstrating agility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.

Here’s What You’ll Bring to the Table:

• Typically, 3-5+ years of experience in a GMP manufacturing environment

• A College degree with a specialization in Pharmaceutical production technology or equivalent

• Experience with filtration and chromatography, and cold chain management a plus

• Experience in audit / inspection preparation, understanding Health authority and regulatory guidelines

• Ability to collaborate fluidly with peers, leadership and cross-functional support groups required

• Excellent written, oral communication, and organizational skills required.

• Ability to maintain attention to detail while executing multiple tasks with minimal supervision
