The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) will lead the strategic direction and operations of Cannabis Council Australia, with a focus on building advocacy, driving member engagement, and positioning the association as a leading authority in the industry. The CEO will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to shape and execute initiatives that elevate the association’s profile, strengthen member value, and foster partnerships with key government, industry, and community leaders.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership:

• Develop and execute the association’s long-term strategic plan, ensuring alignment with industry needs and trends.

• Drive initiatives that enhance the association’s visibility and influence within the industry, government, and broader public.

• Build and lead a high-performing team by providing clear leadership, direction and support to employees, ensuring they have a clear understanding of their roles and responsibilities.

• Set clear and ambitious team OKRs and KPIs in relation to key success drivers, and take swift and decisive action in case of underperformance.

Public Affairs and Advocacy:

• Lead the association’s advocacy efforts, representing the interests of members to government bodies, regulators, and other key stakeholders.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with policymakers, regulators, and influencers to shape policies and legislation that benefit the industry.

• Collaborate with the Board and relevant committees to develop and promote policy positions, white papers, and thought leadership initiatives.

• Monitor industry trends, challenges, and opportunities, ensuring the association is proactive in addressing issues that impact the industry and members.

• Oversee the organisation of events, workshops, and conferences that address industry needs and enhance the association’s reputation and reach.

Stakeholder Engagement and Collaboration:

• Foster partnerships and collaborations with other industry bodies, research institutions, and international organisations to promote knowledge sharing and best practices.

• Serve as the primary spokesperson for the association, representing the organisation at public forums, media engagements, industry conferences, and networking events.

• Develop strong relationships with industry leaders, CEOs, and other key stakeholders to build a robust network of supporters.

Membership Engagement and Growth:

• Increase member engagement by delivering value-driven programs, services, and opportunities for networking, education, and business growth.

• Drive membership growth by identifying and engaging prospective members, including new businesses, startups, and key industry players.

Operational Excellence:

• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the association, ensuring effective management of financial resources, personnel, and member services.

• Collaborate with the Board of Directors to ensure strong governance and transparency in decision-making and operations.

• Drive the development and implementation of processes that optimise the efficiency and effectiveness of the association’s operations.

• Work closely with the Director of Sales to maximise lead generation and conversion of MICE business in line with the hotel targets and strategy.
• Management of business from an agreed segment across certain markets, which could be corporate companies, Government, and / or entertainment.
• Maintain existing client/account base to ensure business is retained and developed where possible.
• Research new business for Sofitel Sydney Darling Harbour for new lead generation.
• Identify new business opportunities through any means.
• Conduct research to uncover opportunities focusing particularly on “desirable business” and/or “need periods”.
• Know competitor accounts and target businesses.
• Adequate follow up and follow through on all opportunities to win business for Sofitel Sydney Darling Harbour.
• Ensure adequate sales time is spent on communicating with clients.
• Providing market intelligence on a regular basis and understanding of competitor strengths weaknesses.
• Submit reports on sales activities, competitor information market trends and any new opportunities as required.
• Have a complete understanding of Sofitel Sydney Darling Harbour's sales and service vision, its products, services, presentation of brand, and rate structure to fulfil business objectives.
• Liaise with other Hotel Departments and within the Reservations, Conference and Events Department effectively.

Procore’s Industry Insights Team is looking for a Director, Industry Transformation APAC to expand our global presence, thought leadership and strategy. This role will be responsible for driving business growth within the APAC region. They will work with some of our most global and strategic accounts as they navigate the ever changing construction challenges through digital transformation.

As a Director Industry Transformation, you will develop multi-threaded regional thought leadership campaigns in partnership with global industry strategy, strategic account marketing and sales.

This role will work closely with Procore’s Revenue Team to achieve revenue and backlog targets, and shape regional GTM processes. This is a strategic role as Procore continues to grow into larger global accounts and geographies. 

This is a Sydney based role and will be reporting into the VP Industry Insights.   

What you’ll do:

• Work across product, corporate strategy, sales and marketing to help develop unique insights into the issues that are top of mind for customers and prospects both in APAC and Globally
• Expand Procore’s brand awareness at the executive level in the APAC region
• Share this expertise internally by participating in strategic projects as well as building industry insights for our teams

What we are looking for

• Bachelor's degree in any discipline of Engineering (i.e. Electrical, Mechanical), Construction/Building Sciences, or relevant equivalent experience
• 15+ years experience in senior/executive management in the Construction Industry
