Q-Systems Pty Ltd is looking for an experienced Hydraulic Fitter to join our Brisbane team. Normal operating hours are 6.00am to 2.30pm, with expectation that you will work overtime where required.
A hydraulic fitter is a skilled worker who assembles industrial and hydraulic systems, assesses hydraulic problems, removes and replaces hydraulic hoses, hydraulic assemblies and hydraulic systems and tests the integrity of hydraulic hoses, hydraulic assemblies and hydraulic systems on trucks, trailers, mobile plant and equipment and various machinery. As a hydraulic fitter your role involves supporting the Team Leader and working with other members of your team on the workshop floor to produce Q-Systems' various range of products. As a hydraulic fitter you have the rewarding challenge of assisting with the successful manufacture of the various Q-Systems products via detailed engineering drawings, while ensuring you work efficiency and effectively and in accordance with industry standards and practice. The hydraulic fitter’s work environment is often dirty, dusty and loud, and the hydraulic fitter is frequently exposed to potentially dangerous substances such as toxic chemicals and solvents etc. As a hydraulic fitter you are responsible for ensuring that the jobs you are working on are completed on time and by the most cost-effective manner. The person who fills the role is required to comply with all aspects of QA and OH&S in accordance with the Company’s Integrated QA and OH&S Management Systems, its associated policies, procedures and processes.
Your key responsibilities will be: • Operate mobile equipment including forklifts, overhead cranes and company vehicles. • Use automatic, semi-automatic, single purpose machines and equipment. • Interpret and work from production drawings, prints or plans. • Handle materials within the scope of the production process. • Measure accurately. • Assemble hydraulic assemblies and hydraulic systems. • Assess hydraulic system problems on a variety of trucks, trailers, mobile plant and equipment and a variety of machinery. • Remove and replace hydraulic hoses, hydraulic assemblies and hydraulic systems. • Test the integrity of hydraulic assemblies and hydraulic systems in accordance with Australian Standards. • Apply safe work practices. • Meet your individual deliverable dates on duties / tasks as stipulated by the Team Leader. • Maintain simple records. • Comply with all relevant Australian Legislative requirements, Australian/International Standards and Australian Acts. • Comply with all Quality Management System and OH&S Management System requirements. • Ensure that any OH&S concerns you have are reported to the Team Leader in accordance with the requirements of ISO 45001. • Provide any suggestions or feedback that will assist the continuous improvement process. • Undertake other tasks, not limited by this job description as requested by the Team Leader. • Work in other areas of the business as required from time to time.
To be a successful applicant, you will meet the following criteria: • At least 3 years-experience in industrial hydraulics and / or hydraulic systems and / or working as a hydraulic fitter within a manufacturing company. • An appropriate Trade Certificate from a recognized Vocational Institution. • Ability to work independently and be a strong team player. • Familiarity of working in accordance with Occupational Health and Safety legislative requirements. • Current Driver’s Licence. • A willingness to work a reasonable number of additional hours in accordance with operational demand on short notice as requested by the Team Leader.
Annual Salary will be $75,000 to $85,000.
