The Opportunity
Come and discover the opportunity to join our Coupled Pickled Cold Mill (CPCM) team at our Port Kembla Manufacturing facility as an Electrical Maintenance Team Leader. As a part of the broader Australian Steel Products portfolio, we have six major manufacturing sites at Port Kembla that deliver a variety of products, innovative solutions and services to our export and domestic customers.
The CPCM is a highly automated processing line that uses a blend of old and new technology. The CPCM is toward the end of the steel-making process with the primary purpose of strip thickness reduction in preparation for the downstream steel coating processes.
In this specialised leadership role, you will lead a multi-skilled Electrical team focusing on the delivery of Electrical Maintenance requirements for the CPCM Plant department while ensuring you champion a safety-first culture. To ensure operational productivity and asset preservation targets are achieved, you’ll provide technical expertise on challenges with our equipment and manage the team’s success through their performance and productivity to ensure our business plan objectives and targets are continually met.
What Will You Do?
Leading and supporting your team to deliver on equipment reliability targets and asset performance, you will:
- ensure safety standards are never compromised, making suitable changes when risks and opportunities are identified
- maintain asset performance and collaborate with team members to improve equipment performance, capability, and costs
- supervise maintenance activities and strive for business improvements and manufacturing excellence
- manage asset maintenance and improvement strategies aligned to CPCM objectives
- build effective relationships to drive the continuous reliability of our CPCM assets
- supervise, mentor and develop a team of electrical coordinators and trade personnel to enhance their capabilities

As an enthusiastic and motivated leader, you will demonstrate a willingness to develop your team to achieve success. You will bring:
- tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering or an Electrical Trade
- a commitment to the safety and wellbeing of yourself, your team and others
- experience working in a similar industry within Electrical Maintenance, with a strong focus on defect elimination and equipment reliability
- proficient experience with PLCs and motor control systems
- experience in maintenance coordination and collaboration with multiple internal and external customers
- a demonstrated ability to lead, coach and develop others to enhance capability
