The Commercial Products team manages a fleet of custom-built systems and third party product integrations  that perform critical functions for our Sales Operations, Traffic, Finance, Programming and Presentation teams, which make it possible for us to sell and traffic ads into our linear broadcasts schedules. In other words, our systems are core business critical systems that manage all revenue associated with broadcast.

You’ll be leading an organisation made up of 4 squads, each with its own engineering manager, software engineers, quality engineers, and iteration manager. The immediate focus of the role will be on the continued improvement and scalability/reliability of existing systems, longer term you’ll contribute to building the next-gen of Nine’s sales, advertising management, and revenue systems.

Your day to day will include but won't be limited to:

• Manage the versioning process for promos, ensuring accuracy and consistency.

• Manage archiving, rendering, and cleanup processes for efficient promo creation.
• Conduct thorough quality control on final promos before sending to the Network Programming Center.
• Ensure prompt delivery of MPEG files to clients, addressing technical issues as needed.
• Efficiently use Media Asset Management and Production Asset Management systems for cataloguing.
• Ensure adherence to protocols for seamless asset retrieval and usage.
• Perform end-of-night checks to ensure readiness for the next day's production.
• Address outstanding issues promptly for a smooth workflow.

Job Description

Reporting to the Site Manager, the Engineering Maintenance Manager is a critical leadership role responsible for the operation and maintenance of all industrial plant and equipment, installations design and upgrade changes.

The key focus of the role is to support Safety, Quality, Production, Continuous Improvement through condition and TPM functions that underpin OEE improvement, inclusive of contractor management, participation and lead where required in project management improvement projects. This role is key for developing the Villawood engineering team.

As the Engineering and Maintenance Manager at our Villawood site you will be self-driven with a strong ability to “get things done” safely and effectively, you will uplift capability across the site to ensure and embed a culture of continuous improvement whilst maintaining the highest safety standards.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

• Schedule, supervise and progress the condition and preventative maintenance practices and schedules to efficiently support the production line equipment and supporting services of the manufacturing process to minimise production downtime.
• Coordinate the requirements for new equipment designs, surveys and maintenance schedules to applicable Australian Standards
• Co-ordinate all contractor support, services and maintenance activity inclusive of cost and quote establishment, induction completion, JSEA completion and other risk assessments
• Lead discussion and implementation on engineering design upgrade improvements.
• Play an active part in highlighting to Site Manager areas for reducing production costs such as waste, setup time etc.
• Maintain critical spare parts inventory.
• Lead team and contractors with focus on safety and regular participation in hazard identification and WHSE campaigns that actively drive a culture of behavioural safety.
• promote improvements to safety systems in use on all equipment and production lines
• Continue development of team and carryout regular Toolbox Talk meetings on Safety and Quality.

Role Reports To: Director – EDI/Logistics

Job Summary:

Coordinates with the Global Routing Team regarding the scheduling of work, distribution controls, and the direction of manufacturing capacity utilization to ensure optimal levels of customer service. Supports the technical aspects of the available workload distribution tools via collaboration and analysis with Operations.

Confirms the accuracy of the electronic data interchange relationship between customers (publisher, wholesaler, and retailers) and ICG for drop ship, offset printing, global connect partners, and distribution for ICG’s AU Operations. Performs critical functions relative to the proper assignment of carriers for outbound, inbound, and international transportation based on customer, publisher, and/or ICG routing guides. Works directly with Operations to provide support and enhancement of existing workflows/ SOPs.

Essential Duties:

• Creates, manages, and maintains site specific configuration(s), through systems analysis and programming, in coordination with the Production and Logistics Planning team.
• Provides secondary support for non-AU sites, Global Connect Partners, Offset Printers, etc. regarding creation and /or configuration/programming of jobs with a specified rules base on site’s needs.
• Provides daily oversight of scheduled jobs in the AU site to ensure consistent and accurate workflow while balancing TAT regarding customer’s expectations.
• Performs a variety of analytical logistics support tasks across sub-systems and equipment specific to the Manufacturing and Distribution areas.
• Supports and coordinates new product releases for book types, trim sizes, product launches, new carrier’s etc. which may directly impact the router, downstream systems, and/or available equipment.
• Communicates customer orders and statuses to the Production Management Team to provide accurate information to ensure daily and weekly goals are achieved.
• Reviews volume and labor goals weekly with the Production Management Team and the Production Planning Team to execute and exceed established goals.
• Reports interface errors and mapping errors for all EDI format-based ordering tools and EDIFACT profiles including purchase orders, functional acknowledgments, purchase order acknowledgments, advanced shipping notices, and invoices.
• Analyzes carriers’ invoices to maintain LSI freight cost including working with the Customer, CSR, Vendors, or Carriers on billing errors, discounts, and freight terms.
• Generates and maintains all routing instructions, carrier information, and tracing data upon review of transportation analyses of carrier costs for truckload carrier, less than truckload carrier, and small parcel carriers.
• Manages carrier performance daily to ensure pick up, delivery, claims and tracing are completed as scheduled and current for the benefit of customer, Operations, and carrier compliance.
• Serves as point of contact with both internal and external clients.

Job Summary: 

Coordinates customer relationships and supports the Sales Team and Publishers to ensure timely setup of print-on-demand publications and provide advice on all other Ingram services, including IngramSpark to achieve sales growth targets for the business.

Essential Duties:

• Acts as the main print of contact for all Client Service calls and e-mails.
• Processes all publisher queries efficiently and accurately.
• Coordinates receipt and internal processing of title materials from customers to Pre-Media and acts as liaison to communicate issues between Ingram and publishers.
• Ensures that production proof copies are generated, based on customer specifications and are submitted to publisher for approval.
• Assist customer and Sales Rep with EDI Implementation.
• Ensures the timely integration of new content ingestion.
• Implements targeted promotions, aimed at generating additional content ingestion and/or drive volume via presentation of special offerings to existing clients.
• Responsibility for producing and coordinating reporting for customers.
• Maintain up to date and accurate knowledge on the full range of Ingram services, to be able to advise publishers appropriately.
• Maintenance of systems including CMS, CSS etc. to ensure publisher requirements are recorded and actioned accurately.
• Works with internal Ingram teams, both in the UK and US, as necessary, to meet the needs of publisher.
• Proactive signposting of new publishers to and/or migration of existing accounts to Ingram Spark as appropriate or directed by management.

• Increases sales volume via clarification of special offerings to existing clients.
• Assists with Digital Support and eBook customer inquiries.
• Support the Marketing team with marketing campaigns.
• Assist and deliver customer communications.

Other Duties:

• Occasional, essential travel visiting key customers with Sales reps; assisting in review meetings and client training on systems where appropriate.

The Opportunity

As a Mechanical Engineer - Industrial Machinery will have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of challenging projects. This role is focused on Defence and piping projects across SA and WA.  You will work with our industrial team on a significant number of cranes, gantries and associated lifting equipment to support Defence infrastructure.  Other parts of this role will see you involved in fuel storage, mechanical piping and fuel handling facilities.  Having experience in either of these areas will be highly valuable in this role. Who are you?

As a Mechanical Engineer in our Industrial team, you will have experience in detailed designs, consulting or complex engineering projects from the mining, water, industrial or infrastructure sectors.  You will work with OEMs on product selection and installation but have the ability to customise and innovate, delivering unique solutions in challenging environments.

You will have the following skills and experience:

• Hold an accredited Bachelor of mechanical engineering or other relevant discipline
• Design experience with knowledge of local industry standards and local codes.
• Proven ability to work in engineering teams and manage projects to scope, budget and program.
• You are a Chartered Engineer (CPEng) or have eligibility to apply for this accreditation

Your Role 

The Sydney Underground Structures team is a leader in the design of underground structures including cut and cover tunnels, retaining wall, foundations and other civil structures in the NSW market. With a growing pipeline of work across a range of different projects and sectors, we are seeking a mid-level Civil Structures Engineer to join our underground structures team and provide expertise to our projects.  

The role offers an exciting opportunity for career progression within a dynamic and vibrant team to deliver sustainable outcomes and client service excellence.  With focus on underground structures design, this role would suit someone seeking to be the interface between structural and geotechnical design with a solid understanding of both disciplines, or an interest in adapting their existing skills in one discipline while developing new skills in the other.     

Here are the key things you will do to ‘bring ideas to life’. 

• Work as part of a team to undertake the design of underground and civil structures at all design stages from early concept development to final construction issue and construction support 
• Perform detailed soil structure interaction analysis on a variety of structures and engage with the wider design team to ensure the developed design solutions address the project requirements and are integrated with other design disciplines 
• Collaborate with our digital modellers to produce drawings and models which capture the information requirements of our projects and clearly describe these requirements to the client and contractors. 

What can you bring to the team?  

The preferred candidate will have a relevant tertiary qualification in Structural / Geotechnical / Civil Engineering with around 5 years’ experience, preferably with exposure to the structural design of underground / civil structures.   Your career to date will have included: 

• Relevant experience in the design and documentation of retaining structures, deep shafts, cut and cover tunnels and/or reinforced soil and rock construction. 
• Working knowledge of Australian Standards, TfNSW specifications and structural and/or geotechnical analysis software  
• Experience in successfully working in a consultancy setting as part of project teams with both internal and external clients. Experience in transport work sectors preferred 
• Interest in further developing existing skills in both structural and geotechnical engineering 
• Ability to apply technical design skills to ensure solutions are safe, efficient and meet quality requirements 
• Ability to collaborate within a team environment and in communicating concepts/ideas to technical and non-technical stakeholders 
• A passion to engage in the creative and innovative development of digital engineering technology

JOB SUMMARY

• Working in a fast-paced environment, you will be responsible for storyboarding, shooting and editing video and still photography content.
• You will play an integral role in ensuring that our campaigns meet our clients’ objectives and deliver on the strategy that has been set.
• You must be a multi-skilled, highly competent person who is flexible, proactive, hands-on, and you must have creative capacity and technical skills.
• As the division grows, you will gain experience in managing other junior team members and taking responsibility for their performance.

You’ll work collaboratively with the Business Director, Creative Director and our in-house Studio and Social teams to plan and execute videos that tell amazing stories, engage audiences, hero our brands, and are delivered on budget and time. You’ll have a strategic approach to content, understanding its role within the wider communications campaign context.

You’ll also be required to undertake the production of shoots, pulling together runsheets, coordinating equipment and equipment hire and other logistical steps that go into creating great content.

Some videos will be edited to tight deadlines so you’ll need to have project management skills that allow fast editing without compromising your creative process.

About the role

• Join our Performance & Observability team as the go-to Observability expert.  
• Use your technical expertise to review our current Observability needs and map out a strategy that is aligned with our overall architecture.
